The Ancient Faith Prayer Book Kindle Edition

This is my favorite prayer book. It has helped me as a new convert to learn the frequently repeated prayers and it gives me the organized prayers for the hours.

When I was a catechumen years ago I attained a hard copy of this prayer book from my local Orthodox bookstore. I glanced at it now and then I felt little to no connection to God through it. The hard copy got lost in translation. While in the midst of my medical journey I purchased the Kindle version. It sat basically untouched this morning of all days while after praying the hours it became a breath of the Holy Spirit praying within me today.

I was very excited about receiving this book, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s compact. It has some prayers for various occasions, including for those who are sick, which was very important to me to have in a prayer book. The language is modern and easy to understand and follow. I’ve tried other prayer books but this one is my favorite, and one I’ll keep coming back to several times a day. I’m glad I bought this. Ancient Faith really did a great job with this book.

I have read many Orthodox "prayer books" over the years and this is one of best in not overwhelmingly the reader with too many prayers while organizing and including the most pertinent.

Great everyday prayer book. Has Orthodox morning, evening prayers plus the Akathists and Canons as well as the full pre communion prayers . This is essential for an Orthodox Christian. Has some Russian prayers in English but can be used for any American Orthodox.

This prayer book is great for Orthodox Christians. It has daily prayers, communion prayers, and even specific Saints’ prayers. This will help you establish your prayer rule at home or with a group. This prayer book does not appear to belong to one ethnic or cultural group, so it’s good for any English reading Orthodoxs anywhere. Highly recommended

I love this book and it has had a profound impact on my life. It is written in a natural way and almost every word flows beautifully.I think what I enjoy most, and why I can't get away from this book, is that it is written in modern vernacular that an modern American can relate to. Perhaps some of the majesty is lost with you and your vs. thy and thou, but for me the prayers have become part of my mind and heart. I love and and am grateful for it.

A great little book to carry in your purse (or gentlemen, in your coat or jeans pocket) for "anywhere, anytime praying". Perfect for traveling and keeping faithful to a daily prayer time.

I like this so much that I went out and got the leather for my prayer corner.
