A: works fine either hand.

**Q: Is it dish washer safe?**
A: YES it is dishwasher safe. Manufacturer says it is on their website. They have tested it in their kitchen and labs for 2 1/2 years of use and it is still in great shape.

**Q: What’s the difference between this one and the black one?**
A: The difference is in the color of that piece in the handle.  The "black" replaces the red.  Otherwise, they are exactly the same.  Hope this helps.

**Q: Is this made in China?**
A: I don't know where it's made, but not very effective in warming butter to spread.
