Courtney Davis Celtic Handmade 5x7 Golden Tree of Life Leather Journal with Latch

Not really knowing what to expect regarding quality, other than prior Amazon reviews, I was pleasantly surprised to find the journal leatherwork appears to be done very well especially for the price. However, I noticed the label stated the book was made in India. This lead me to first question as to what type of leather is used? Since the cow is considered holy in India, I would assume the book was not made from cow leather. So,not sure what type of leather. Secondly, since the design is from a Celtic artist, I'm also surprised the work is done in India but I guess everything is becoming global now? This is a gift for a Celtic lover in our family, so hope she will be happy with this journal.
