Q: what are the dimensions? I think the height is listed wrong as 34"

Just put it away a week ago, but its' not 34 inches in height. The highest point is more like ~22-24. On the Xterra my total height including the vehicle is a bit over 8 foot. Low parking garages and typical garage areas have caused minimal scraping. For the price and quality you cant go wrong!

All the hardware to attach to bars is included

If your Forester comes with roof racks you don't need anything .. Mounting is very easy and straightforward make sure you mount Prorack as far rearward as possible for aerodynamics and noise reduction ... We did a 2500 mile road trip with no problems ... Good luck ..
