58mm Universal Telematic Wide/Zoom 3 Position Rubber Lens Hood

I'm an old school PhotoMan, from the days of FILM and B&W pictures. I may have upgraded to digital cameras, equipment and full color images, but I'm NOT moving to the USELESS "tulip" shape lens hoods. I'm also NOT moving over to the HARD shell plastic hoods. Neither of these types of hoods will do what I can do with the SOFT rubber hoods like the Zykkor hoods I recently bought. I need to buy more for each of my lenses and will be doing so as soon as my big move to the South Pacific (from Michigan!), is complete. Soft hoods are flexible and can be placed against GLASS surfaces to completely eliminate flash glare or aberrant light rays. I can adjust a soft hood too. These things can NEVER be accomplished with flower shapes and plastic that can harm a lens if its bumped against a surface that causes it break. Soft hoods can be shaped and folded to add weird, yet cool effects to your images. I've used the flower shaped hoods while trying to shoot extreme Macro. I won't make that MISTAKE again. I had to use my baseball cap to block the glare coming through the cut-outs in the tulip hood. Needless to say, that hood is now traveling down a river somewhere!I have NO time to play with "cutie" lens hoods. My needs are far greater than pretty camera parts, and my clients expect, and DESERVE the best images I can produce. I love my soft hoods and will never use anything else for blocking glare or adding cool in-camera effects to the front of my lenses. Zykkor hoods are soft thick, durable, washable and very important in my daily photography needs. I only wish they made soft hoods to fit over Cokin "P" series (or the generic brand), filter holders - I'd be buying several as I have a tendency to lay them down, walk to another location, and forget where I laid them!Craig Benham, Photographic Adventures, Ltd.- Photographer, Signing Off, Be Safe Out There

what can you say about a lens hood for either it works or does not and at least to date this has worked well for my Canon rebel T3I camera.

I love this lens hood. It's quickly adjustable so it won't be in the way for those wider angle (18 degree) shots.

Black rubs off, very flimsy, regret buying

Is a nice hood for the price, good threads, strong rubber but it showed at 18MM on my 18-200mm Nikor.
