Starixx Nut & Seafood Cracker

This nut cracker failed. The metal is weak and cannot hold up to normal use. The nut cracker was bent by a 9-year old child, despite proper technique, after only 10 minutes cracking hazelnuts and pistachios

This nut and seafood cracker by Starixx is a nice quality item. I did use it on the mixed nuts that you get around holiday time and had no problems with it. It's very strong and nicely made. The metal parts and hinge are very strong and need to be since you are putting a lot of pressure on each side to break the nut, or crab leg. They have nice "teeth" is what I call them, inside the joint that holds the nut/crab leg shell in place while it's being cracked. They grab the item nicely and hold it in place so it doesn't shatter everywhere. They also have a plastic grip on the outside of each handle that allows you to be able to hold on to them since the metal is slippery when wet. If you're eating seafood the handles tend to get slippery so this is a nice feature compared with other crackers I've used in the past. I did receive this item at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

Bought for Christmas present. Opened the package & fell into 2 pieces. Cheap hinge. Would not recommend.

I use this mainly for seafood so I will be reviewing this as a seafood cracker. This seafood cracker has a good design, it's sturdy and easy to hold. The grip is slim but still gives a good grip even with wet/oily hands. I used this to crack king crab legs and claws and it did a good job. This seafood cracker is about 6" long, I used mostly the smaller area to crack the crab legs and claws. So far it has held up pretty well and it's easy to wash and dry.I received this product at a discounted price to evaluate and provide an unbiased review.

This is a a well made nut cracker. It powers through the softer and harder nuts with ease. It has a good grip to it and it comfortable to use. It feels very well made and sturdy. It is easy to clean and it doesn't take up much space in the drawer.
