The Router Book: A Complete Guide to the Router and Its Accessories

Any time a book says that it is a Complete guide, it is going to place a bull-eyes on the product. This book is excellent reading, but falls way short of a complete anything, when it comes to being a guide. There are a lot of jigs, patterns, and methods of use templates, that are not even covered in this book. Most of the information was a repeat of old material. It was good reading, but really, I should have checked out of the library, where it would not have cost me anything.

I liked the fact that you could read material, then see the pictures and then refer to see a quality cut that you did

Book format was a little out of date. Wish it was new

It's possible that when I read the description of this book I got the wrong impression of what it was for. The book itself is relatively well written and great if you are unfamiliar with router terms and equipment but the book is pretty lacking when it comes to jigs, fixtures, and routing techniques. Do not buy this book if you are looking to improve your routing skill set, rather buy it if you are REALLY uninformed on what kinds of routers are out there and what each is used for.

I should have done more research before I bought this, but the book is exactly what it says it is; a book about routers.The 2 main points against it are- as someone else said, very little technique. As I mentioned, it's about routERS and not routING, which is my fault for not researching thoroughly- it has a lot of information about specific models, which is likely to be outdated and useless quite quickly.

I had hoped this would be a beginner's guide to routing. (Namely how to use a router and its bits). It is not, it is a run down of what routers might be bought in the US market, not a 'hands on' how to book, for which YouTube probably offers more assistance.

This book is made for the America market....The content is sound but as it is not detailed in the metric measuring system its no good to any one born after 1971, I do work I feet and inches but metric is the way forward...sorry USA

Not quite as good in description as the "mastering the router a complete course" but very useful. Like asking for two opinions

Found this very useful .in my woodworking hobby. I am still using this book 4 years after I bought it.

bought to accompany a gift so contains useful and easy to understand methods and tips. Arrived quickly with no problems
