Younger (A Younger Novel) Paperback – July 5, 2005

Don't buy this if you first watched and love the tv show of the same name.This may stand on its own as a literary work (i skimmed and can't fairly judge) - but it's difficult to appreciate if you are reading it because you like the tv show characters and want a rehashing or more of that world.You'll be disappointed. Read before you watch the tv series and you may have a better experience.

This book is about a forty something woman who comes to a cross road in her life and discovers that, in some ways, life seems to have passed her by. With a little help from her friend, however, she reinvents herself and discovers how to make up for lost time and grab the brass ring.This is a quick, easy, breezy read, and a quite enjoyable book. I bought the book, after watching the television series of the same name, which is based upon this book. The series boast a stellar cast. It takes the premise of this book and runs with it. I absolutely love the television series, which is going into its seventh season. Watch the television series and read this book. You will not be disappointed.

I discovered Younger on Hulu and new I need to check out the book version along with the book mentions, Marriage Vacation and The Miseducation of Henry Cane.There are many differences from the show but the book doesn't disappoint. I myself am in the middle age of Alice's two personas and found it a good quick read. After realizing the book was written over ten years years, and since updated to fit modern times, some things stood out like her cooking with recipe cards, it made her sounds more like 60 and older but hey what I would not give to get back to those simpler times when a recipe was just that and not an entire blog. Overall sweet book and looking forward to the "Older" release this summer. And of course season 7 of the show.

I watched the show before i knew it was a book and I adore the show. That being said i already love the characters the tv world created so these characters didnt feel like my buddies.We follow a woman that gets mistaken for a 20 something and she decides to go with it and act younger and she gets a job in publishing that a 40 something probably wouldnt have gotten or even wanted but she goes with it and lies to everyone but its cute and a light hearted lie and shes not hurting anyone.Anyway if you haven’t seen the show and this sounds vaguely interesting definitely pick it up. If you hve seen the show already maybe skip the book because the characters act very different and I was always waiting for the characters to be the way i already know them so it was a slight let down but not the authors fault they did such a good job with the show!

I’ve seen a couple of episodes of this show and thought I should check out the book. It’s a funny and enjoyable story, and just about plausible, giving hope to people who might like a kind of do-over.

I have watched the 1st season of the tv series & know like everything the book is always different. So I'm excited to read this one & see how different it is.

The book is good. I loved the show so I wanted to see what it was based on.

If you like younger buy the book. It is good. Names are slightly different, but its great.

As you might expect this was somewhat different to the tv series, both in names and content. That is not always a bad thing but in this case I found the series to be an improvement over the book. As far as the audio goes I found the voice a bit flat, especially at the beginning while the story was forming, it got better later but the damage was done.

Taking my time with reading this. A bit hard to get in to and it hasn't grabbed me as yet, probably because the TV show is so good that I don't think the book can live up to it. However, I shall persist with this because once I get time to really get stuck in to it, I may change my mind.

The series of this is so good (Comedy channel) but the book not so much.
