This little palette is gorgeous! I bought the roses print on the outside. LOVE IT. The print is a constant on outside: top, sides, bottom. If others are all as nice, I will probably buy more of them. Seems very well-made. About same size as a cell phone. The lid separates from the bottom and fits nicely when closed. (Have not yet tested if leak proof.) 8 across + 5 down - the little plastic containers. 80 peel-off magnets. I agree with another reviewer that these palettes could all be a bit better if inside of lids were white instead of unpainted metal. BUT OH I LOVE THIS THING!!! I can't wait to use it. (And btw: I must own 20 + palettes of various kinds already. I can already tell that this will be a favorite.) Moving colors around easily is one of the reasons I purchased this magnet type palette.

I got this to create my custom watercolor palette and it is perfect! I read some reviews and someone recommended to glue down the magnetic squares with super glue and I haven’t had a problem with falling off the pans. It’s compact, lightweight and durable. Buy it now!

Mine came wrapped inside of bubble wrap, a plastic envelope and then a box, so no damage on the box when it arrived. The little half pans do not arrive inside the box perfectly fit together as they appear in the photo, there is a little bit of spacing between them here and there to give you room to move them so you can pick them up and take them out as needed. Once I put them all back in after my paints dry, I could "squeeze" them together so they look like they do in the photo. Just make sure you put them in with 5 across and 8 down like you see in the photo, otherwise they won't all fit back in. Each little half pan was precisely the same size (they are somewhat rectangular). There is a piece of very thin magnet that is trimmed to size so it fits perfect under each one, when I held the box upside down and shook it a little bit to see if they would stay put, they did, but I have not tried that after putting them back in the box after filling them with paint. Some of the magnets came off as I lifted them out of the box to fill them with paint, but there was enough adhesive on them to get them to adhere them back on properly. I'm not planning to take this to paint in a class or outside so I'm not worried about transport so this is perfect for me. I bought this because I realized how much more efficient and less wasteful it would be to have the colors already ready to use each time I paint, rather than sort through the tubes, squeeze out a little of each color, etc. etc. which was a hindrance for me in doing regular practice. I prefer working with fresh squeezed paint, but I was just not painting as much as I'd like because of the big production of pulling out all the paints and getting set up, so this will speed things up a lot. I'm so used to working with freshly squeezed paint, I'm sure it will be a learning curve to learn how to paint from solid pans but if I didn't do this, I don't think I'd be able to practice as much as I'd like to so I finally caved and just went for it. It is super easy to fill each one with paint and it is so nice to have access to and see "all" my colors all at once so I can experiment more without needing a lot of space to spread out in a dedicated area that I can just leave messy all the time. I plan on creating a template using watercolor paper to place inside the lid to put color swatches/names corresponding to the colors as they are placed in the box by rows/columns for permanent reference (most likely will need to laminate that). I also like the idea that as I get more colors, I can buy more boxes, swap out the pans and rearrange them so all the cool reds can stay together from light to dark, same for the warm reds, cool blues, warm blues etc. etc. I thought I'd have to buy something more expensive like the Whiskey Painter's Palette but honestly for a non-professional crafter, I thought these were perfect. The lid stays tightly on yet its easy to take off, I didn't think I would like the flowers on the lid but they look fairly pretty in real life (thankfully they are white with a dark blue background so its neutral enough to fit any space, and bright enough to find easily if you misplace it. I thought I would need to "invest" in something more expensive like a large palette made out of ceramic or something like the Whiskey Painter's palettes, but I just bought a 12 well ceramic palette for mixing to use while painting. The one thing I did not like, and the reason why I took 1 star away is the ODOR! The plastic off-gasses a terrible odor!

I'ts adorable. ordered to mix up watercolors but at first glance I thought of a diamond earring I lost . This little box with all magnetic compartmemts would be a great earring holder .. keeping them all together so they do not get seperated. This tin box was packaged really nice. So pretty i got the roses. But most important is the many little squares held still with 3m magnets.. works wonderful mixing up paints.

I was unsure of getting this because I couldn't really tell from the pictures if it was what I wanted. I am glad I did get it. I have watercolor in half pans. I used half pans I already have. The magnets have stayed on perfectly and are strong enough to hold the pans. The lid comes off and is not hinged. I am not using it for travel so I can just set the lid down somewhere on the desk. I've sprayed the half pans while in the tin. It has held up to being wet, and the magnets didn't come off. I'm really happy with it and it has given me options on how to organize my paint colors.

I love these palettes and have bought several. It's mainly what I use to keep my watercolor tube paints in. It holds a lot and it's a nice portable size. The magnetic part is great so that you can put magnets on the backs of the pans and they won't move around. Lots of pretty images to choose from. These have been my go-to for awhile and will continue. Highly recommend!

magnets could be stronger and stickier. pan dropped only and paint went everywhere. a drop my other pallets like this could handle easily. tin case is gorgeous and worth it though. the seller reached out and has made the effort to better the situation resulting in five stars!

These are the perfect size for the half-pan watercolors. I'm making a tin of mixed sizes, both full and half pans, because I want to have a travel set that includes more than one brand of watercolor. I have a mix of watercolor tubes and half pan sizes, so these magnets are the perfect size for the half-pans, as you can see in the photos. I love these and will purchase again when I run out.

I really like these tins. They come with half pans in them but I wish they were completely empty as the main reason I buy the tins is to house half-pan and full pan colours that I purchase individually. If the tins had twice the capacity I could place an entire set of half-pans. A capacity of 60 colours would be ideal for me, although I would be happy with 48. I enjoy the pictures on these tins and I love the simplicity of their lines - no bumps or other interfering bits on the pans that make the pans slide around even with magnets - which is a detriment experienced with other types of watercolour tins. I like this design so well that I have now purchased several of them.

I love this box. Great shape as it’s shorter but wider and can be customized (I have 24 half pans with room for two short travel brushes and three standard sized plus a pencil sharpener, eraser and a small golf pencil) It stays shut. The lid comes off (not hinged) and none of those annoying thumb rings so it sits flat and takes up little space on surfaces like cafe tables or aeroplane trays.The magnets are strong enough to keep the paints in place. I may add a bit of foam to the sides (under lip edges) as my layout allows for that and it would snug the pans in place so they don’t wiggle at all and it can absorb any bumps or drops in my art kit.The flat white half pans are great to write a colour name/brand on in grease pencil for topping up or reference should you forget.Loving the shorter length because it’s more convenient to group like colours and easily fits the outside pocket of my knapsack or in my shoulder bag I use for day to day outtings

It’s just as described. Good quality of the plastic pans and magnets. Handy size. My only suggestion would be to have the inside cover coated in white so it will be nicer to mix in. I chose the plain black cover so it looks like a cell phone!

Die Dose kam verbeult (Boden und Dellle an der Seite), und die mitgelieferten Halfpans sind eigentlich zu groß . Es passen gequetscht 5 Reihen Halfpans rein, aber wenn man die Magnete auf die Pans klebt, paßt die 5. Reihe nicht mehr.Ich hab sie gegen andere Halfpans ausgetauscht, die ich auch bestellt hatte.Für den Preis ist das keine Option.Ich vermute mal, es handelt sich um einen schon mal zurückgeschickten Artikel aus der Abteilung gebraucht? Jedenfalls wurde er vor der angekündigten Zeit geliefert.Ich habe bereits vier dieser Dosen. Alle Top. Entgegen meiner Befürchtung halten bei diesen Deckel und Boden gut zusammen.
