The hair has a natural curly/coily texture, and while some shedding is normal on the first wash (as the product mentions), the amount was very minimal—no bald spots or clumps. The hair came untangled and dense, and the curls reverted beautifully after misting with warm water. I sectioned the hair into eight sections (four front, four back), used a separate conditioner for slip, and finger-detangled before using a wide-tooth comb. For washing, I used SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, keeping the hair braided during washing to minimize friction. After detangling and conditioning, I styled the hair into 17 brick-layer plaits to keep it stretched and protected, then covered it with a scarf and bonnet. The mannequin also came with the included clamp, which I paired with a tripod for easy, stable setup. Overall, this mannequin is braid-friendly, easy to work with, and perfect for practicing natural hair techniques when handled properly.
