Solidly built out of aluminum, comes with a digital audio cable that works well so it's not necessary to buy a separate one, inputs are clearly labeled. Plug and play, very easy to operate. When connecting to a TV if you don't hear sound coming out of your speakers you may need to go into your settings and set your output to digital output or PCM to get it to send the sound to the DAC. The only downside to this unit is that it doesn't have any volume controls, so some TVs will output a set volume with no way to control it from the TV end of things once they are set to digital output, such means you'll need some kind of line level volume control. If you've got a sound bar or an amp then you'll control volume through that but if you are doing what I did and making a diy 3.1 stereo setup you'll need something separate to control volume. They make Dacs that have this ability, though they cost a bit more. All in all functioned exactly how I expected, around quality was good and I was satisfied with this purchase.

Honestly the product works fine! I wanted to connect a pair of RCA bookshelf speakers i had to my LG oled TV because the built in speakers were abismal. But i also didn’t wanna go buy a brand new pair of speakers just yet so i thought this was a great choice for just exactly my need and yeah it works good. Now some of these reviews say how the speakers don’t get loud? I know what they mean my, speakers feel pretty capped out but good thing is it’s just loud enough. I do have to crank it to the max to hear it for my comfort but everyone is different and those with better hearing than me shouldn’t have any issues with volume at all and those with good expensive speakers really shouldn’t have issues either. But either way for my use case if i had expensive speakers i would have bought a more expensive DAC. But i wasn’t going to slam 100 bucks on a DAC when my bookshelf speakers cost that much as well. I will update my review if they stop working like how some of these reviews are claiming will happen. Either way, the audio is crisp and clear. No issues with play back. Even with a cheap set of RCA only speakers it works as intended.

This mini dac was pretty easy to setup. Bought to convert optical tv to rca receiver. Sounds great with zero issues.

UPDATE: I originally gave this DAC 5 stars, because I didn't have anything to compare it to. (My stuff was in storage.) But after some more time with it and comparison to several other DACs, it's honestly the worst DAC I own. It's got low output level, some weirdness in the high frequencies, the mids seem a tiny bit buried, and the bass is a little bit gooey. However, the DACs I'm comparing it to are way more expensive. A $200 IBasso DAC is way better, and an $800 Stello Signature obliterates it. But this DAC cost me twelve dollars. It is probably unreasonable to expect a twelve dollar product to be as a good as one costing several hundred dollars. However, many of you reading this review would never in your life consider buying a piece of audio equipment costing several hundred dollars. If your criteria for a DAC is that it works reliably and puts out sound that doesn't have major problems, this DAC does all of that. But if you're comparing this to audiophile DACs and thinking you'll get the same sound quality for a minuscule price, I would say that isn't going to actually happen. I'm changing my score to 4 stars. If it was expensive I would probably rate it at 3 stars, but it's worth the price that's being charged for it. --------- Original Review: I'm using this between the optical port of a USB sound card and a pair of powered speakers. It sounds great, and the background noise is absolutely silent if you use a high quality USB power supply. The background noise of this DAC is 100% determined by the power supply you use. It really has nothing inside it that can cause self noise. If you have significant hum, try a different power supply and that should fix it. The worst possible solution is plugging it into the USB port of a computer or a TV. With that solution you're going to get the electrical noise of the electronics. I tried a high quality GaN charger with a 15W USB-A port, and it was absolutely silent. With a cheaper cell phone charger it was pretty good but not perfect. Overall, five stars, assuming you also have a good power supply to use with it.

No fuss, no wasted money here. I really do reconmend this for those who need a DAC for speakers and headphones that dont cost$1000 I was expecting a boost of quality when using this but am blown away by how well things sound. Now as far as DAC, you wont actually get the difference if you do not have a decent headphone or speaker. Before buying this get yourself a decent hi-fi speaker or hi res headphone. You do not need to break the budget to get premium sound. UIISII is a solid budget friendly brand that I use. Reason is the DAC pushes out a higher quality of audio that is 100% lost if you use a $20 speaker. Night and day difference with hi res headphones. Lossless audio songs have so much more to them that I could not with the basic computer dac. This PROZOR adds back that quality. Love it. Also this is not expensive, with pricey audio items you arent always getting better audio out of them. Why spend 300 for a DAC when you get a similar experience with this one? Easy to setup, literally plug the usb power and the spdif cable in and then connect your headphones. The lack of a volume knob is great, whether I use it on the tv or the computer I do not need to touch the DAC after setting it up. I control sound the same way I always have.

This immediately worked perfectly for me in providing stereo audio for my FM headphones I use on my inexpensive 43 inch Vizio (Walmart) TV. (Still shopping for my 75" TV.) I am an audiophile who has used DACs in my systems for many years. Price is great! Thank you PROZOR!

Very convenient in my opinion if you need to connect, for example, some Smart TV with digital optical output for sound to some "old" audio system that has only Left-Right RCA stereo input.

Works perfectly, easy to set up. My TV does not have a mini headphone jack output, which I needed to feed my home's built-in mini amp + speakers. This worked perfectly to make the conversion I needed, and the audio and video are still in sync.

I am not sure how this item got any good reviews. I cant find any info about prozor as a manufacturer It looks like an oem of some sort and it is made in china. I wasted time returning this

It works as expected. They mention PCM but there might be other features in your sound settings that you need to tweak. Don't lose faith.

I used this as an optical (digital) from an LG television to phono/RCA (analogue) to a Cambridge amplifier (which was on offer) to a couple of old but unused Tandy/Realistic speakers. My soundbar was too temperamental using HDMI/Bluetooth or Optical (the three outputs/inputs available between the LG television and LG Soundbar). Using the tv over broadband only (don't know if that's part of the issue). The problem was that whatever I tried couldn't get a clear sound (volume/clarity etc) between different app sources. The has solved the issue for me. I now have simple control over the sound. It is clearly to do with a very good amp and dare I say it a couple of very good speakers. That said, the Prozor DAC is playing its part as well. Audiophiles on Youtube and the like, speak in terms of DACs that cost in the hundreds. In fairness, they are talking about music over various interfaces to the Cambridge and then on via very expensive speaker wire to even more expensive speakers. Their systems are all at least £1K to £1.5K whereas mine for my purposes was about £350 all in (I had the speakers from a purchase in the late seventies). This unit works and costed very little so it has to get a five star review.
