Still worth it
First, I want to say that my puppy and I absolutely adore Honest Kitchen โ she loves the taste, and I appreciate the convenience of having a shelf-stable, healthy, high-quality food option for her. That being said, I do not believe the food expands as much as advertised when rehydrated. Based on the preparation instructions and expected yield, I anticipated getting significantly more prepared food from each box than I actually do. I am especially careful about portioning because Lola is a tiny 5.3-pound Maltese, so I measure her food very consistently. I use the same 1/4-cup measuring cup both to scoop the dehydrated food and again after adding water to measure the final prepared amount. Even using the same measuring method throughout, the food does not appear to double in volume as expected once rehydrated. The attached picture represents when I scooped out 1/2 of a 1/4 cup of dehydrated food, plus an additional 1/2 tablespoon, and then added 1/4 cup of water. Even after fully hydrating, the final volume was still noticeably less than what I expected based on the advertised expansion ratio. The quality and ingredients are still excellent, and I do plan to continue using the product, but I think the packaging and serving/yield expectations could be more accurate and transparent for customers.

Best dog food
Iโve been using honest kitchen for several years now. I just started using the fish limited ingredient for my Yorkie, whoโs very allergic to other proteins. Sheโs doing really well on it and what Iโve done is I make a batch of it put it in the fridge and it solidifies so I can cut it up into pieces. I donโt find the smell that fishy at all. I actually have to put my nose to it to smell it. I usually buy the grain free base mixes and mix meat in for my other dogs and that works very well for them.

Great for dog with food sensitivities
Itโs the food that Iโve seen the best results for my dog who has skin and food allergies. Both of my dogs love it. It controls the skin condition of one of my dogs even without taking Apoquel and I rescued another dog, and since sheโs been eating this food her coat has changed so much for the better; now is smooth and shiny.

Helped My Dogs Pancreatitis
This really seems to have helped our dog's stomach issues. The ingredients are human grade, production standards seem really high. I like supporting this company, seems like they are consistent with the quality. The dog loves the flavor, no problems for her but here are the downsides: smell is pretty bad, it makes a mess when she eats (she is a messy dog by nature though), the cost, and volume of food per price. It is quite expensive for a 56 lb animal, and I don't think it lasts as long as they recommend but I do need to track that better. However, it's the only thing her stomach issues seem to tolerate. I think it may be helping her allergies too, although I think we need to be on it longer to tell for sure. She's only been eating this about 6 mos. One last downside, she poops like crazy now. Not diarrhea or loose stools, just the volume is like a horse. No kidding. But, no more throwing up, and pancreatitis seems to be much easier to manage while eating Honest Kitchen Limited Ingredient Fish.

Great quality food that I trust
My pups favoriteโฆ. I love and trust honest kitchen above all others. I lost my last saint to cancer and I believe that poor quality food is behind the reason so few dogs live as long as they used to, and why so many more get cancer. So I did a deep dive into researching dog foods. I wish that I could afford badlands ranch or some of those ultra premium foods. But I do have a Saint Bernard and thatโs way too much $$$ but honest kitchen is something that I truly love and trust, but can afford.

Made my dog sick twice
Gave my 10 pound Chiweenie this food for weight management. Saw this product, carefully analyzed all the ingredients, human grade, lower fat content, so I decided to purchase. Followed recommendation of transition. I feed her 1/4 cup dehydrated limited ingredient food twice a day. With couple healthy treats. So, out of her morning 1/4 cup.....75% of the 1/4 cup was old food. 25% of the 1/4 cup was new food. Within 10 minutes she ran to bathroom and had diarrhea and urinated all over the floor. Called company. They told me to try again, but give her even less of the new food. Of course, I waited a few days to make sure she was ok. About 5 days later, when I ,was sure she was good, I tried again, but halved the 25% of the new food to about 12.5% (I eye it, I don't mass the content). Well, within 10 minutes again.....same. My poor baby girl then proceeded to go under the bed for a few hours. Both times. I think she was afraid of she was going to get in trouble. And maybe felt ashamed. LOL. It is not her fault. Was I annoyed of having to clean it? Yes. Annoyed at her. No can never get mad at her:-) Most annoyed with the product. Ingredients sound all very high quality and very good. I guess, it just does not agree with her. I hope Amazon makes it back. This product dos not come cheap. But anything for my little one.

Great for dogs with lots of allergy issues
My Labrador retriever has a lot of allergy issues. Heโs allergic to all protein except for white fish, this food has been a lifesaver for him. Itโs been about 6 months and he is so much healthier now, no diarrhea, no tummy issues, heโs gained most of his hair, heโs not constantly itching/ scratching and he loves the taste. I love that this food has clean ingredients too.

I tried almost all the better known/available dry food brands and raw foods with my ...
Thank goodness for this recipe from THK!! :) I have done a fair share of researching and looking around for dog food that contains limited specific ingredients with no potatoes and limited preservatives. This product has saved my little frenchie's from his longstanding tummy issues due to his multiple food sensitivities and allergies. Before this, I tried almost all the better known/available dry food brands and raw foods with my little one but nothing seemed to work for long before his digestion issues (bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, itchy paws and ears) would return. I tried homemade meals for him but that wasn't a sustainable solution for us. One night, I decided to switch my pup's dinner to this product and he didn't have and still hasn't shown any digestion issues/stomach upset (a VERY good sign for my frenchie). His bathroom routine has never been better or more regular so that makes me a very happy doggy mom. The recipe does have a fishy smell to it but that's a small price to pay as my pup simply LOVES eating this food. He seems to like it even more if I added a bit more warm water to the mix, which I think it brings out the flavour and the aroma more. All in all, my frenchie and I have been very happy to come across this product from THK. :)

Expired product
Hi I have been purchasing Honest Kitchen from your website several times and never checked the products before. But I'm extremely disappointed to find that I had received an expired product. The limited fish had expired in 10 Jan 2021 which I received in February 6. Terrible. I'm appalled at the level of service and product . I had trusted amazon prime and never thought of checking the products before. Its not whether you refund or replace but I'm thinking if I should even order this product anymore. Horrified!
