Confession: I have never seen a Hallmark Christmas movie. Never. Not a single one. But that is about to change! This book is so delightful and charming, it has me totally in the mood for a cozy movie where love wins, snow falls, and goodwill prevails by the end. I mean, it's 2020. I need all the goodwill I can get, people.It's much more than a movie guide, full of tips and ideas for making most of the entire holiday season, from setting the atmosphere in your home to navigating your shopping list and even managing family and pet photo sessions (and managing those expectations). It's packed with personality, which makes me feel like I'm spending time with a friend while I read it. I bought it to give my 70 year-old dad, who is really into Christmas movies, but now I am hoping for joint custody. The book is currently in his hands while he chooses a movie for us to watch together. It is going to be so fun.

I bought this at a really good deal, and it is a very nice hardcover book. I have enjoyed reading through it!

From the middle of November till the end of December you can find me curled up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket hot cocoa or tea with either a Christmas book or a hallmark Christmas movie on tv.The only time of year that I tend to watch rom coms by choice. I guess the quickest way to get me to watch a rom com is to have it set at Christmas time. Rachel’s book is the perfect book for fans of Hallmark Christmas movies it’s the perfect book to go with those movies. This book helps to add to your viewing experience. I love each chapter to explain the different types of Christmases.I got my love for Hallmark Christmas movies and Christmas Rom Coms from my mom. She was never one for rom coms but as soon as the Christmas movies our tv stayed on the Hallmark channel. But after losing her four years I haven’t watched any Hallmark Christmas movies in the last four year. But this year after seeing the new movies including Christmas in Vienna i watching them again. And this book has given me a backlog list of movies. And my favorite chapter in the book is indeed the Christmas homebody chapter.If you love Christmas rom coms and Hallmark movies then you need this book.I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I had no idea this book was only about Hallmark movies.....false advertising. Not a single one of first ten movies I researched was available for free or for a few dollars for rent, all had to be purchased for $6 - $10. This must be a Hallmark come on. Do not waste your money buying it.

This book is a cute, it's a good idea and has some interesting facts and projects in it. My issue with the book is the print is very small and fine. I got this book for my grandmother who loves made for TV Christmas movie and it strains her eyes to read it. I think it misses a large part of its target audience with its fine print.

The book is a fun guide and would make a fabulous gift the way it is carefully designed from cover to inner page decor, colors, graphics, and fonts.I enjoyed the layout with each chapter taking a different theme and containing recurring elements as well as the occasional unique one slipped in now and then. There are sixteen themes that offer an intro with activities, viewing guide, Start a New Tradition idea, and Festive Facts. Two of my favorite chapter themes were The Classic Christmas and The Old-Fashioned Christmas (no surprise for those who know me), but there is something for everyone from music lovers to city lovers, those alone to those hanging with friends.In summary, this tribute to from one Christmas (MOVIE) lover to another was a delightful, whimsical, and joyful perusing experience that I will definitely revisit again and again to put me in the holiday spirit.
