Great for beginners
I'd like to see more of a schedule of the run also. Overall, it was a great start for a tri beginner.

Fabulous book series
I am new to triathlon and got Taren’s whole Fundamentals series: Running, Swimming, Cycling, and Nutrition. They are phenomenal: beautifully and entertainingly written and well as incredibly informative and inspiring. I can’t recommend them enough (and already have to fellow newbies.)

Great Basics for the newbie Triathlete!
For anyone that wants a realistic point of view on running for the first or even to enhance your run as you get into multi-sport training, this a great, fast read. Going back through it a second time to highlight and take more notes. Taren writes like he's talking to you, and the language is geared toward the age-group triathlete. Not that some gunning for the pro's cannot take lessons from, but as an age-grouper myself, having just started training a couple of year's ago (I'm 50 btw), this book has been most helpful. As is his blog and YouTube posts. Highly recommend for any even considering getting into triathlon. Low HR way to go!

Easy Reading and Full of Good Insight
Reading this book is like being in a conversation with the author. Taren's experiences and knowledge are brought forth through a light and entertaining style of writing. The subject is heavy and can be complicated but here it is presented quite well. Beginners will find this as a great starting point and advanced triathletes will enjoy Taren's perspective on running. If I taught a college course on triathlon, this would be required reading. ENJOY!

Great book!
I love how he breaks out the difference seasons of training. Taren makes training seem doable and provides great resources. It’s not “too good to be true” training; you have to do the work and this book puts it into a great perspective!

Great for beginners
Wonderful book for me as a beginner only doing triathlon for two years. I follow Taren on his Youtube channel, always find him putting information in an easy way to understand. So I bought his book and am happy with the reading. I improve my training by following his advice.

Engaging and practical
Engaging, informative, and practical read. He's a good writer, and it reads more like he's talking to you than giving you a manual. The information is concise with an overall bend towards published research instead of opinion, which is fantastic. The drills and information are easy to apply to your next run.

Great for a healthier run.
A great read for one who wants to give triathlons a try but not sure how to start. I’ve started running with a good start to get into biking and swimming too.

Excellent book for the beginner triathlon-runner. And a few tips for the intermediate as well

Another great book from Taren
Like the book "Triathlon Swimming Foundations" I read this book in one go. Since I already have a few years of experience as a runner, not everything was new to me. But the combination, which run, when and how fast certainly helps me in the long run. Definitely a good buy, thumbs up.

Simple, structured and just makes sense.
After buying a a handful of training books in the past, I have to say this is the first one that has really resonated with me. The science behind the approach is explained simply but effectively so the reader understands not only what the desired outcome should be by why it should be that. For an age grouper, time is often a huge factor so breaking approach down in to 3 very manageable sessions with chrystel clear objectives was great.I have ran for years but recently just felt I was stuck in a rut and not enjoying it. Last week marks the start of my new journey following this structured approach. 2 runs in and I am honestly loving it again. Can't recommend this book enough.

Excellent running resource
This book keeps in line with the previous two triathlon foundation books in that it contains a great deal of common sense in the approach to triathlon training. I'm super excited to implement the strategies i learned in this book to my run training. I'm confident that the results will show in my next race. Highly recommend.
