Good idea but needs some fine tuning
Cool idea but the motor didn't work and was not strong enough to move the car. Also the parts don't stay together so it's constantly falling apart.

The Roominate RV was a Christmas gift for my 7 year old niece. It was on her letter to Santa list and she was over-the-moon excited when she got it.

Motor not strong enough to move tires
We are Roominate fans, but I agree with the other reviewers in that this particular set falls very short. The motor is not strong enough to move the car once assembled. You can turn it on, but the tires will not spin unless you lift them off the ground, which is pointless. The whole thing is very flimsy and falls apart too easily. Love the idea, but needs to be sturdier. Our child is always having to fix things as they fall apart every time they touch anything.

Badly designed and cheap feeling.
Pros+ Entertaining and can be configured in many different ways.+ Pieces assemble easily.Cons- Multiple pieces that are almost identical with minor difference. Very non-intuitive when assembling.- Motors provided both spin in the same direction so when mounted as per the instructions the driving wheels spin in the opposite rotation. Making it so the vehicle can't move.- Wheel axles much longer than portrayed on the box and fall off even with light play.- Pieces fall apart easily with use.- Overall design of pieces limits creativity.- The use of stickers does not encourage taking apart the pieces and reassembling.Any modular play system is going to draw comparisons to the big "L" brand. The roominate system pales in comparison to the intuitiveness, quality, and simplicity. The roominate pieces forces the user to make 3 dimensions object out of mostly 2 dimensional pieces. That and there are proprietary slots for proprietary tabs. It's difficult to put into words but the whole system feels half baked and not fully thought through. Combine that with obvious engineering and quality control misses like the motors that spin in the the same direction but are mounted opposite each other and this product gets a big fail.

Great Building Toy
Just bought this set! A great toy that teaches fundamental building concepts and creativity. She can build the RV, or use the pieces to build much more.

She loves it. She can absolutely use her creativity to build more than just the RV.

This is cute in thought but terrible in design
The pieces themselves are basic plastic, however, when you put them together the connections are Very weak. A gust of wind blows and the whole thing falls apart. It took so long to get it to stay together that we didn't even get it moving. My daughter became so frustrated, as did I, that we stopped trying altogether. This is cute in thought but terrible in design.
