Build Quality to Cost Ratio is way off.
I'll mimic what many others have said... the concept on this is great, but the execution leaves A LOT to be desired. I got this for my 8-yr old niece who loves playing with building toys like Legos et. al. I played with it with her after giving it to her and I was not impressed with the build quality of the pieces given the high price tag. Not even remotely close to the build quality of a Lego kit. The plastic pieces don't fit together easily and she had to ask me to help seat a lot of the pieces b/c it required more force than she could muster. But she didn't seem to mind too much. She loves stickers and so immediately was putting stickers all over the pieces while she was building her townhouse while I kept thinking... those can be used a total of 1 time... what a waste. Also, the whole thing with using brightly patterned paper that needs to be cut out for walls/floors is a total joke. Again, it's one and done. Lastly, this thing only came with one motor and cheap battery pack, which my niece thought was cool that we could make a ceiling fan, but the whole concept of this toy was to introduce electronics to girls... so they get a total fail grade on that. How about adding some simple LED lights to the kit?And one last thing... who thought that calling the company Roominate was a good idea? As a pun, it's pretty weak... considering to ruminate means to contemplate/meditate on... typically not a verb I would associate with what is supposed to be a fun building toy.

I don'tunderstand the negative reviews! These are made to allow your kiddo endless building and creating! My kiddo loves figuring out how things work and since getting this she hasn't stopped building and rebuilding things! The parts are sturdy and there are paper for walls or floors with stickers to create room backdrops. It's awesome! My 7 year old loves this!!!

Wonderful toy to engage kids' creativity and imagination
I gifted this to my 8-year-old niece for Christmas and she loved it. She kept thanking me and telling me she really really liked it. It's cool that there aren't step-by-step instructions so children can use their creativity and imagination to build whatever they want. Great toy and affordable too. A tip: keep the box as it will serve as the perfect carrying case.

Great product! Really encourages creativity!
My 6 year old daughter loves this set! It took her a little bit to start to figure it out, but has had so much fun since. The motor is the biggest hit with her and her almost 4 year old brother, they are constantly designing new fans, rides, etc.

DO NOT BUY THIS.
This toy is horrible. A complete waste of money. It's cheaply made, no instructions, you have to cut paper to create walls... it's TERRIBLE.

My daughter(4) likes this kit and I think she will continue to grow and do more with it. She is successful at building some of the small furniture on her own, but struggles to build larger structures.
