Known for its rich matte finish, exceptional durability, and versatility across multiple surfaces, this eco-friendly pigment offers artists a historic medium perfected for modern professional use. ## Description Casein is a quick-drying, aqueous medium using a milk-based binding agent, and is one of the most durable mediums known to man. Nine thousand year old Casein cave paintings have been discovered in Asia, and later, the medium was used by Byzantine, Roman and Renaissance artists including the Old Masters. In 1933, Casein pigments in tubes were developed by Ramon Shiva who relied on the expertise of the artists who used them to help perfect his high-quality paints. Today, Jack Richeson and Co., Inc. manufactures Shiva's Casein colors and is dedicated to bringing back the original quality and formulation of the pigments. Known for their versatility and array of capabilities, Casein paints can be used to create a variety of effects from the rich opaques of oil to thin watercolor washes. Casein paints may be applied to almost any rigid, non-oily surface such as canvas panel, illustration board, heavy watercolor paper, plaster, metal, wood, masonite, or canvas, or linen mounted on masonite. And they can be reworked or layered repeatedly and be used for underpainting. Because Casein has an exceptional integrity of color and always dries to a perfect matte finish, it is unexcelled for art reproduction. The velvety matte finish can also be buffed to a satin sheen or varnished to produce a resemblance to oils. Over time, Casein pigments become resistant to moisture and as history has proven, the medium has a durability and permanence which has easily stood the test of time. ## Features - Produced in small batches to control the quality - Made in wisconsin, usa - Pigment pw6 ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0007WC4YQ | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #309,743 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ( See Top 100 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ) #6,277 in Art Paints | | Brand Name | Jack Richeson | | Color | White | | Color Code | Not Available | | Container Type | Can, Tube | | Coverage | Good | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (77) | | Finish Type | Matte | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00717304060035 | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor, Outdoor | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Volume | 0.7 fluid ounces | | Manufacturer | Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. | | Model Name | Richeson | | Model Number | 120532 | | Paint Type | Tempera | | Part Number | 120532 | | Size | 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Eco Friendly | | Specific Uses For Product | Interior/Exterior | | Surface Recommendation | Canvas,Metal,Paper,Wood | | UPC | 717304060035 | | Unit Count | 5 Fluid Ounces | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Jack Richeson - **Color:** White - **Finish Type:** Matte - **Item Volume:** 0.7 fluid ounces - **Paint Type:** Tempera - **Size:** 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) - **Special Feature:** Eco Friendly - **Specific Uses For Product:** Interior/Exterior - **Surface Recommendation:** Canvas,Metal,Paper,Wood - **Unit Count:** 5 Fluid Ounces ## Images ![Jack Richeson 120532 Artist Casein Colors, 150-Milileter, Titanium White - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51cWmPrgvBL.jpg) ![Jack Richeson 120532 Artist Casein Colors, 150-Milileter, Titanium White - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31RnPV6DroL.jpg) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/19880293-jack-richeson-120532-artist-casein-colors-150-milileter-titanium-white](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/19880293-jack-richeson-120532-artist-casein-colors-150-milileter-titanium-white) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-11-05*
