the most perfect camping light ever invented
I've been camping very regularly since I was in grade school, and I have used flashlights and head lamps of every variety. The beauty of these lights is that they are solar, and they are BRIGHT. SUPER SUPER awesomely bright. And they don't just last one night...it's freaking amazing how long they last. I have taken them on camping trips and packed them away in the dark camper for weeks...then voila! Somehow they are still illuminated. These things are magical. I get to a camp site and start getting set up and realize OH NO! I forgot to set the solar lamps out on the table and they haven't charged for weeks. This has happened multiple times now...and they have always held their charge just beautifully. All you have to do is have them near the sunlight...I've had them charge themselves even sitting in the camper, or on rainy camping trips. I can't say enough good things about these lights. They are also seemingly indestructible. I have two children and they each have their own lamp...they've been dropped and banged many times and they are as good as ever. Oh! And yet another awesome feature is when everyone's asleep and you just need a tiny teensy bit of light to get yourself out of the camper to go to the bathroom or something, you simply crack it open just a sliver and you've got a very easily adjustable light source. I couldn't recommend this more. Best money I've spent on camping, for sure!

Very bright, solar powered and very versatile. Very good lantern and a good value.
Brighter than others on Amazon and the LEDs are placed in 4 tubes that cut glare without reducing light. Although there are no dimmer settings, you can partially close this light to reduce brightness and the colored plastic base makes a nice glowing night light. The solar charging is a wonderful option and it even charges under indoor room lighting! Very bright, very versatile. Would have given it 5 stars except my first one had a cosmetic defect in the epoxy resin that is poured over the solar panel on top. Other than that, no complaints.

Don't waste your money.
I purchased it last year but never used it. Last month, we went on camping and tried to use it. It worked first night and much brighter light then I thought. I was happy with my purchase but it didn't last very long. Second night, when I tried to close down the light didn't shutdown. It kept lights on and on till the battery was empty. I through it into the garbage, a waste of money. I think they should put an on/off switch for it.

Great price, probably my favorite lantern
I have bought and tested many small LED lanterns of this type. I was surprised at the low price for this one, at around $15 most lanterns of this type don't have the rechargeable feature or the solar panel. I'm buying more for gifts this year. I would expect to pay $25-30 for this. You can charge this three ways: via the included wall charger, using the solar panel under direct sunlight or with three AA batteries. It's useful to have options in case you find yourself in a power outage and don't have all of the charging options (that's the only time I would use batteries, I prefer using the rechargeable option.) It comes with two metal S hooks for hanging and a wall charger. To use it you just pull the top part up and it automatically light up, it's easy and very user-friendly. I like that you can partially push the light in for a glowing green option and less direct light or pull it out completely for the brightest light, and it is very bright! This LED lantern is a good value and I would recommend it to friends and family and would buy it again.I received this product free or at a reduced cost for honest and unbiased review.

This is a SUPER AMAZINGLY BRIGHT lantern
This is a SUPER AMAZINGLY BRIGHT lantern. It's small enough to be very usable and the handle is large enough that it can be hung nearly anywhere on the included S hooks. I love that it has a solar panel for helping to charge it, and I appreciate how bright it is.My only issue was that I ordered this in preparation for a winter's day when I had been told that our power was going to be shut off for the day (and into the evening). And I ordered with enough time that it should have been here before that day. Instead, it didn't even ship until the day before my power was to go out and it didn't arrive until several days later. It's a good lantern and will be useful in the future, but it did detract from my purchase experience.

Great buy for a camping light .
Update * 6-25-16 I just returned from a 6 day camping trip in West Virginia and stayed thru the worst storm In the last 70 years ! I had no worries about light in camp with this thing and it never let me down . It hung from the top of my tent in the evening and is light enough to not pull on the tent at all yet felt like I had a full size lamo in my tent . Great light I am very pleased !👍👍Wow I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is . It lights up my entire bedroom and will be great for camping. It has a small led that lights up when it is getting a charge from the solar power panel . It doesn't charge my phone but I wasn't even aware of this feature so it's ok. Overall this is a great addition to my camping gear and will update this after my next trip .
