REVLON Silicone Bristle Heated Hair Styling Brush, 1" Barrel, Black/Pink

How do I love this curling brush? Let me count the ways... 1) It's light, 2) it's sturdy and 3) it makes great curls! 4) the On/Off button is out of the way during use! 5) heats up quickly and cools down almost just as fast! I have a slight deficit in one of my arms and hand - and its STILL easy for me to use without cramping or getting frustrated. The key to this device in my opinion are the silicon bristles - revolutionary - yet such a simple solution. Why wasn't this done decades ago?!?! -- They don't break off if you drop the device, its SOOO easy to use and I am VERY satisfied with the way my hair looks.... Not sure how long the "coconut -oil infusion " lasts, or how it gets refilled ? But for now - I find this a WONDERFUL replacement to my old Clairol Red Barrel ( IYKUK ) ;-) UPDATE: Two months later, (May) the bristles started to fall off. Amazon is stating that my purchase is outside of their return/exchange windows so now to battle with the manufacturer. I don't understand why silicon bristles fall off, they are soft, resilient material should be heat resistant. It seems that the material used to attach the bristles is faulty, a manufacturing issue. To be continued.... open to trying again was long as I don't get someone's used one. KM

My wife had a similar heated wand for several years but finally the teeth of the wand began breaking off. A lot of the teeth I might add. She wanted a new wand and selected this one. So far she likes this one a lot and it seems to work fine for her medium length fine hair. She likes the way that she can straighten her hair and then slightly cure the ends. Pros: • Selectable high heat settings up to 430 degrees F • The power cord has a swivel where it attaches to the brush wand and it helps to keep the power cord from tangling as you use the wand. • The grip on the wand is long and she likes the way it fits into her hand. • The plastic end tip stays cool and it allows her to roll her hair the way she wants with good control by holding the handle and the wand tip. • There is a switch that allows you to change the temperature setting from off to low to high. The high setting is 430 degrees F. The lower temperature is never stated in the instructions or on the packaging. • The unit operates on 120/240 VAC and 50 to 60 HZ so it is good for overseas travel. It uses 88/93 watts. • The silicon bristles do not get hot and my wife uses the 430 degrees F setting without any problems on her fine hair. • The unit has a bright red LED that indicates that it is on and hot. • The wand has a hand protector shield on the bottom of the heated part so your hand does not easily touch the heated wand and get burned. • The power cord is 76 inches long. • The brush has a 4 year limited warranty but you have to keep the receipt and pay for return shipping plus $6 return shipping and handling back to you. My wife loves this brush as her hair does not get tangled. She likes that the bristles are soft and flexible and that they do not get hot. Finally, she was looking for a styling brush that has bristles that would not break off easily and so far she is in love with this brush. She is in hair styling heaven! Cons: • The unit does not have an automatic shut off if you leave it on. My wife wanted this feature but the old unit she threw away did not have this feature either. She rated this brush at 5 stars. She seems to like it a lot and the silicone bristles seem to make her happy. She uses this every day and she likes it a lot, she is glad we purchased it. She has used this brush now for over a month and she uses it daily and she still loves it. After using a hard bristle heated brush for years, she has nothing but praise for this design and for how well it works.

I have a chin length bob and this allows me to nicely curl the back. It's easy to use and heats up quickly. I've had two of these over the years. And while I like the way that it works, eventually the pink bristles break off in significant quantities.

I absolutely love this styling brush. I like that it doesn’t blow air out of it like some of them do to try and dry your hair at the same time. Those always tangle my hair and pull it out. I like that the bristles are actually silicon rather than a hard metal so it doesn’t scrap against my scalp when I pick up my hair and I don’t feel like it is as harsh on my hair as the metal bristles. I did learn thought that hotter is not always better. I have very thin baby fine hair and it’s short. And was always using it on high and my hair would get stuck mid curl. Well when I realized to put it on the low. I didn’t have any more problems. I think the high heat was just grabbing on to my hair to much. I like that the curler is not to heavy so my arm doesn’t get to tired halfway through doing my hair. And since the bristles are made of silicon rather than the thin metal I feel like they will hold up better in the long run and last longer. I don’t like that it doesn’t have the auto shut off. I would really like it to have that. I guess that would be the one thing it’s missing. Otherwise it’s a really great hair curler.

I purchased this as a mother's day gift as my mother had been hinting me in on the fact that she wanted some type of roller product for her hair, i almost immediately found this, and on a great promotion too, so I bought one She tried it for a few days and I didnt hear anything so decided to check in. She mentioned the bristles being silicone pulled her hair alot and that was making it hard to use so she stopped. I ultimately returned it as I found they make a similar one but its a blow dryer brush, and that was more what she was looking for. It may have been something she was doing wrong causing it to not to seem to work, hence the 3 star, but ultimately it wasnt for her.

Not as expected. I was shopping for a small handle blow dryer. No where does it mention if this product should be used on wet or dry hair. Having plastic bristles is a terrible idea because it won't let hair run through it easily. I have short fine hair. Even on the highest setting (not recommended for fine hair) it did absolutely nothing with my hair except get tangled up. For a $50 product I was expecting a much better product.

I love this heated curling iron with silicone brush! Here are a few of the reasons why. 1. The soft silicone bristles helps to firmly hold my hair to the heated shaft. 2. The silicone decrease my risk for burns as the silicone bristles offer some protection from the metal. 3. It decreases the time it takes to curl my hair as I use the brush on the iron to comb through my hair from root to tip, then curl. 4. It leaves my hair with soft, shiny, smooth hair with waves and soft curls. 5. The silicone is flexible and soft, not hard as with some curling irons with brushes. Some important points - you want to brush your hair from root to shaft then immediately curl wand towards the scalp. Do not try to grab or add additional strands of hair beyond those that you have kept from the brushing from root to tip as this will likely create a tangle with the hair and wand that will be difficult and painful to untangle. (For instance, after you section a piece of hair, place the wand close to the head or mid-shift and comb the hair with the silicone bristles to the tip, and then curl. When you do this, some shorter hairs will fall down and off the rod. Do not pick up these hairs and add to iron. Just do those pieces separately.) Be aware, if you are used to traditional curling irons, the curls from this product are not as defined as those with the metal curling irons. However, I really love the more natural softer curl (as opposed to the Shirley Temple type curls) and find it complements the look I am going for. Very straight hair does not at all complement my age (42) or face shape but soft volume is nice. Also, this item is not a dryer/curler/brush. It does not take the place of a hair dryer and you will need to allow your hair to air dry post wash or use a separate hair dryer prior to curling or styling with this wand. The Revlon Pro Collection Heated Curling Iron with Silicone Brush leaves the overall hairdo with more uniform body, bounce, and shine. I very much enjoy the results achieved from this product and find it works well post wash and blow dry, and even better the day after the hair is washed when there is still some prior styling product left in the hair. Give it a try. I think you'll love it too.
