Dig It Up! Stegosaurus Dinosaur Stone Dig

I've purchased these for my nieces and nephews. They looked like so much fun that I actually (and I feel only a little ashamed saying this as a 30 year old woman) purchased one for myself. My nieces and nephews love them, but I love them, too! It is a bit messy, so either do it outside or expect to have to dust and vacuum afterwards. My nephew said it took him a couple hours to dig out the stegosaurus, but I'm not even halfway done and I have been at here and there for probably a total of 4 hours. It's really neat seeing the dino take form as you get down to and dig out around the bones. My only complaints are 1) the "bone" material is harder than the plaster surrounding it, but not *much* harder, so you have to be careful, otherwise you can chip or break it (I suppose this gives an air of authenticity, as you would need to be careful with real bones, but it does make it somewhat disappointing to realize you've chipped off a good sized chunk); and 2) the tools are slightly more delicate than I would have expected. I broke the plastic pick tool by scratching too hard to get some plaster out of a groove, and the tip snapped right off. I suppose if the tools were stronger, they might damage the "bone" material more.On the whole this is a great product and lots of fun. Room for improvement, but I still love it regardless and will buy other products in this line.

Unfortunately I received this already open- missing the tools and the "digging" already started. Very disappointing. My son enjoyed it anyway because he had tools from the other kit. Would've returned if he wasn't soooo excited to start it
