best keyboard ever!
So I looked a long time for the perfect keyboard, and I was less picky about the mouse but I wanted that to be a particular way too. This combo is quite perfect. The mouse is a perfect size, with comfort grip on the sides and a programmable button on either side that defaults to forward/back for whatever software you're working in at the time. The keyboard feels soooo good. The base where your hands rest has a soft feel but is very sturdy, the keys are soft touch (a little loud but not bad at all) and all those extra function keys, whoa! It will spoil the crap out of you for ever working on a stupid "normal" keyboard again with how it streamlines tasks and just generally makes your life easier once you develop the habits of actually using them instead of the multiple steps of the old way. Best of all, it's VERY easy to use. Setup is really simple (which is good, because it does NOT come with an instruction manual), it's literally plug and play; just put the batteries into the mouse and keyboard, plug in the receiver to your computer's USB and off you go. Just be sure to download the drivers to make use of the COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZEABLE favorites bar on the keyboard and all the different options you can choose to suit your preference for both devices. Also for my fellow lefties out there, this mouse can be configured for left hand use very easily as well. Definitely worth the money - highly recommend!

Great Keyboard
This keyboard is one of the best I have ever used. It is an ergonomic keyboard well designed. Typing is easy. Installation is very easy. Windows 10 recognized it immediately by model number. The mouse also works great, it works better for me than much more expensive ones I have bought before. The mouse has a lot or programmable features. The keyboard is not large. It fits perfect on my table and does not look bulky or take up too much space. The color and look is beautiful. There are plenty of programmable keys on the keyboard also. It has volume controls and pause and play buttons for music. Has a lot of pre programmed keys on the top rows. I even love the clacking of the keys. The keyboard is very durable and easy to clean. The only problem, if even I can consider it a problem, is that batteries on the mouse do drain pretty fast. I think this is a great value and an excellent keyboard. I love the look of it and the feel of the keys. The mouse, for me, fits my hand perfectly and is easy to use.

Best keyboard-mouse combo I ever had.
I have had this combo before on other computers; this combo has lasted me for about 4 years now. I spend about 10 hours per day on the computer, so each gets heavy use; the mouse is usually the first to go. Convenient, easy to install and very durable. Battery replacement in both is very infrequent as compared to Logitech. The keyboard has the best feel I have experienced other than an Ergo keyboard; a lot better and comfortable than standard. The mouse is heavy and glides very good and has a rubber scroll wheel that is very comfortable, unlike cheaper mice. The downside is that you cannot buy either of these components separately; if one goes down, you have to buy the set, but for the money vs lost production time it is worth it. Amazon is the best place; found better pricing than at Fry's where it is about twice as much. Did not check Microsoft directly.

A good product with room for improvement
The keyboard is very easy to use with its semi-ergonomic wave keys design, the shortcut keys work perfectly and they enhanced the functionality of the keyboard. I use the zoom-in and out keys as well as the volume up and down, and the calculator button saves a lot of time. The mouse is ambidextrous and it has the ability to scroll horizontally by pressing the wheel left or right, it also has additional clicking buttons that can be used to click forward or backward when browsing the Internet. In general a good product, that will last you 3 to 6 years depending on how you use it. Things that can be improved: The mouse is not ergonomic, the height only works if you have big hands, but for the regular user the height of the mouse should be lower and the mouse should be wider to allow for a more natural open hand position while using the mouse. The degradable material on both the mouse and the keyboard degrades too quickly, and the paint on the key labels wears off easily when the user hits the keys like a typewriter. The mouse wheel gets loose and sticky after 2 to 4 years. I haven't found a better semi-ergonomic mouse/keyboard combo for this price. I recommend this product.

A very minor update of the 5000 keyboard and mouse.
The last one that I had lasted 8 years of hard use. Very durable. This 5050 keyboard is about the same, and appears to be durable. I like the sight curve of the keyboard and it also has a keyboard tilt feature that I love. While the palm-rest is not padded it is comfortable and dollar for dollar in my opinion as a professional engineer, it is one of the best keyboard, mouse combos available. The batteries in the mouse last about 4 to 6 months if you use Rayovac alkalines and about 18 months in the keyboard. I will not use any lithium battery as there is a fire potential, regardless of what the news says. It bothers me that Microsoft can't find some country better than China to make it it does not seem to be as well made as the predecessor that died after 8 years....my guess for this one 3 to 4 years...

Buy it!
Hands down favorite keyboard Iโve ever purchased! It is ergonomic, lightweight, WIRELESS, the batteries last forever, and adjustable. I work from home permanently now and I use this 8 hours a day everyday. Itโs so comfortable to use and withstands a LOT of typing. Keys have never failed. Keys are quiet but not silent which is perfect for me. Highly recommend for anyone that works from home or planning to do a lot of typing for work or school! You wonโt regret it. The mouse on the other hand Iโm not a fan of. Itโs a lot larger than other standard mouses. The clicks are quiet too which is a large bonus just wish the mouse wasnโt so big.

Best keyboard on the market
This is in my opinion the finest keyboard on the market. I have a closet full of em. So I should know. It is big yes but that is a good thing if you put it on your lap on a recliner. Has higher than average key press. Not too bulked out with useless keys. you will find the wrist rest to be crucial for us couch potato coders. The outward curve and split is just what you need. no more, no less. Battery life is of no concern for me. A rare event when I need to change batteries (which I use rechargeable anyway) I actually toss the mouse in the trash. lol! and use a totally different device for that. So this review isn't about the mouse. This is my 3rd one over the years. So now's your chance to have this keyboard at a good price finally.

Mouse doesn't work with Windows 10
I've had this keyboard and mouse (model 5000) for many years with my Windows 7 computer and it worked fine. Then I bought a Windows 10 computer and found the mouse does not work properly. The mouse pointer lags, jump, hangs, stutters, whatever you want to call it. This jumpiness varies and sometimes it works fine but then start acting up. I haven't found any rhyme or reason to it. I thought it also might be interference and I did some testing along those lines without success, but that also wouldn't explain why other makes of mouse work fine. The key board works fine. So I thought maybe a newer copy might work better so I bought the keyboard and mouse again and had the same problem with the mouse pointer. I researched on the internet and found a lot of other people had the same problem. I found lots of on-line advice on how to fix the problem but none of the ideas worked. The computer came with a HP wireless mouse and it worked fine. So did a Leadsail wireless mouse I bought. So bottom line is that other mice work with this Windows 10 but not the Microsoft 5000 mouse. I like the feel of the Microsoft mouse and that's main reason I kept messing with it trying to make it work, but it refuses to work properly. I also don't want to take up another USB port with a separate wireless mouse receiver, but if that's what I have to do to get a mouse to work properly then that's what I'll do. So for Windows 10 I wouldn't recommend this mouse and keyboard purchase. Update 3/05/19. I finally settled on a logitech mouse M525. I like the feel and seems to work great. Previously I reported the keyboard works fine, but lately I've been having some problems with it as well. I've noticed that if the hard drive seems to be busy the keyboard skips or doesn't respond. When the hard drive is done or slows down its activity the keyboard starts working again properly. Now I'm trying to select another keyboard.

UK Querty internals with US Querty keyboard - completely useless!
This item is not fit for purpose. Purchased in the UK from Amazon UK from a UK company yet it has US Querty keys and UK querty internals which means that some of the normal keys are missing completely and others are not where they are expected to be - completely useless piece of kit and don't even bother trying to get a full refund from Stuff-UK - that's not their style!
