I was paranoid about scraping something when backing into my garage and unfortunately my factory Jeep antenna grabbed ahold of the garage door enough to bend at the base. Ouch!So I ordered this shorter one which fits a variety of models.Well I had to be extremely careful with the paint on the fender and use a tightened Cresent wrench and Channel Loc pliers to unscrew the factory metal unit. The factory unit had a six sided part just above the proprietary jam nut that locks the antenna to the fender.I found blue thread locker on the threads of the factory whip and assume that the jam nut on the base is almost rusted solid.This unit incudes about 5 different threaded screws to mount it. I used the largest and the smallest threaded together to fit into the female side of the factory base and it works very well.Maybe I am loosing 10 miles of radio range but it works well enough for my location and it looks good enough too.

On my 1994 Toyota 4runner the antenna is an about 2.5 feet long steel rod, great to hit every garage door overhang and branches and trees anytime off road. I bought a 13" same style antenna, looked great compared, but the range for the HD radio wasn't great. Bought this 17" version, still looks so much better than the factory whip, and the reception is almost the same if not the same. Easy to install is subjective, I turn a wrench often so this was about a 5 minute install. Comes with multiple adapters for all the different types of mounting brackets, I used some loctight red on the adapter to the antenna, and loctight blue on the antenna to the 4runner in case I ever want to remove it. I would buy it again, good size and reception. Can't comment on "car wash proof" as many others do, I don't use commercial car washes. Excellent product, would purchase again.

This is a great antenna. but for some reason wont fit my 06 F250.. It comes with adaptors , but none work on it.. Im thinking someone else changed original.. Not Antenna fault

So far so good, reception is very good. Much better than my old 8 inch antenna.

Worked great the first week. But reception has diminished considerably since. Also, the flexibility is marginal. After going through a carwash, the top 4 inches is curled backwards now and doesn't straighten up.

Not A MOPAR replacement AntennaI’ve purchased the Votex 17 inch all-terrain flexible rubber antenna to replace my 36” factory installed radio antenna on my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic truck. It was advertised as a MOPAR replacement part for my model truck, it is notInstallation: Installation is not difficult. If you have skills in visually differentiating thread size and count. If not you will need to have extra tools, not provided, to determine the diameter and thread size and count of your antenna coupler on your truck before you can pick one from the many they provide with the antenna. You will also need to be careful where you hold the antenna while screwing the post adapter into the antenna and the antenna into the trunk antenna coupler. If you hold it too high you will unscrew the parts of the antenna from the others. No for the novice/beginner car person, but no need to have a mechanic perform the installation.Sound Quality: The Sound quality is okay for this antenna compared to any other aftermarket short antenna I’ve purchased. Every station had static and stations I could receive with a weak signal with my factory provided antenna were nothing but static on this antenna. The Driving test was also okay at best. The sound quality of strong stations where mostly static, and the weak stations faded in and out of reception. I was hoping this antenna being 17 inches and able to get above the metal hood interference would provide sound quality equal to the factory antenna I currently have.Style: The style of this antenna is very simple and did not look bad on my truck. I’m disappointed the antenna didn’t work, I look good on the side of my truck and with its flexibility would have made it less abrupt if a tree branch or other objects were to catch on it. Otherwise, the style is very plan and simple and very lack-luster.This antenna was not worth the money I spent, and I was more than happy to return it to the manufacturer. If you are looking to purchase this antenna for you Ram 1500 Classic truck, I recommend you keep looking. This antenna is not a MAPOR aftermarket part and shouldn’t be mistaken for one.
