My toddler hated the taste of it. The first few times she cried and had trouble washing the flavor out of her mouth with water, we had to brush her tongue with a toothbrush. So the first few bedtimes were tough but she caught on pretty quickly and about a week later she’s basically kicked the habit. We still use the polish to help make sure she’s really don’t sucking her thumb but it worked so well and so fast. I also put it on my nail and tasted it and it was pretty potent and nasty for sure. I would definitely recommend using it but also trying it yourself so you know what your kid is experiencing.

Omg this product is amazing!!! So happy I read the reviews. My son is 2 and literally been sucking is finger from in the womb,even have ultrasound pics with him sucking the thumb lol 😆. He sucks it nonstop no matter what I did until this Lil miracle bitter pen brush started doing wonders. It's been over a week and he's not sucking his finger. The only issue for me is he lost his comfort to fall asleep so he goes to bed a bit later, but that's the least I'm working on it. I'm super happy with this product and already recommending it to other. #Happycustomer 😃

Zero stars!! Do not purchase this item! This is the worst product ever purchased. I tried it first (put a dot only) before I put it on my four year old and I THREW UP! This is not even safe for adults, how is it safe for kids! This should be removed from the market ASAP

Okay so YES it works. I just used it for the first time this morning and he has been freaking out everytime his finger goes in mouth and taking it out and now not even trying to put it in at all so far this morning. HOWEVER. He won’t eat anything because it has transferred to his food when he picks it up and eats with hands so that’s a little hard. He was crying because his food tastes so bad and I tried it out. YES it’s bitter! Hopefully after a few days it will get better. But chemical free is great!

My kids will stick his fingers in his mouth and bite his nails... it in stops him for a few mins until he gets used to the taste. I will say the taste is disgusting but he still bites his nails.

Holly molly. This thing works! Put this on one day, and she stopped sucking her thumb. Yes, she misses her thumb and I had to put it on again 4 days later to remind her, but wow it does work! I also tried it, it's yucky but that is why it works wonders! Wish I would off done this earlier with her.

But of a backstory, I bought this for my husband as well as my almost 4 year old. My husband has had a nail biting issue since he was in grade school. His nails are nonexistent and his fingers are nubs at this point. He bites his nails 24/7 and at this point doesn’t even realize he’s biting them. Our 4 year old has recently started the bad habit as well in the last year. I decided to put this on my son‘s nails at 9 AM. I am a firm believer that if I’m giving my child something like this I should also be trying it. Now I do not have a nail biting issue, but I put a dab on my hand and licked it. Holy crap this stuff taste horrendous. I instantly begin chugging water, spitting in the sink. I saw the previous reviews where they said that it made their child puke and I thought it was an exaggeration. But there I was in the sink, thinking I was gonna be sick. It is now 10 AM. The wave of bitterness and sickness passed within 2 minutes, within five minutes, I had gotten the taste out of my mouth because I was chugging water. Now an hour later I still feel it linger. I have a slight headache from the taste and my stomach hurts. It tastes almost like battery acid. It is very bitter and an absolute awful taste. My four-year-old now has it on his hands (I put it on his fingers and then I tasted it) He has yet to put his hand in his mouth. When my husband comes home will be the real test. Because I’m curious to see how long it lasts and lingers on your fingers. So as of right now, I give it five out of five stars. I will update this at the end of the week and see if we have kicked the nailbiting habit out of our house. But please be aware it is truly a horrible taste. So parents, please be aware your kid may puke.

I will start saying that this thing taste horrible horrible horrible, but unfortunately my toddler got used to the taste on the second day, I ended up putting on me as well and OMG I can’t believe she still sucks her thumb. I’m on the 3rd day and I still taste the bitterness. I moved to the thumb guard and still using nixxit on the other fingers to prevent it from changing the finger she sucks.

Within in two days our daughter had basically broken the habit. I should have bought this sooner! Tastes absolutely terrible, you only need a small amount!

Good product. Tastes horrible but is not toxic. You must be diligent applying after every hand wash. I removed one star because the release twisting top to bring product to the brush sometimes doesn’t work. But i would recommend.
