We learned about these in Alaska and they work wonderfully, a little on the expensive side but having no mosquitoes is worth it. I now have 5 units and don't plan on going with them ever again.

I always get eaten alive by mosquitoes. Bug traps really don’t work for them and end up killing all the beneficial insects. I also really hate bug spray. I had someone recommend this as an option and it’s been great. I turn it on about 10 minutes before I go out on the back porch and no more bites. You can even sometimes see the mosquitoes fly towards you, stop, and fly away. The only con is that it can be a bit pricey to use. I stock up whenever I see the refill kit on sale.

We use thermacells to scout the few months before and the months during early deer season. We live in the south where the mosquito is the state bird. When scouting I have my thermal cell on a laynard around my neck and in a very close proximity during the season, they are a game changer. Without them scouting and hunting in certain times would be impossible. Personally I don’t go in the woods without it, always in my backpack. Ordering them here is a must rather than buying them locally in single or double packs. Here in town I would pay more for a 48 hour refill box then I did for the 120 hour refill box on here. Easier to convince my wife the need when I can prove the savings, score for me and her. Be careful and safe hunting.

I take my dog to the dog park all the time, and lately the mosquitoes have been terrible. With the heat and rain, the mosquitoes are only going to get worse, so I’ll need to keep using it. My only concern is that the price has gone up quite a bit. If you leave the fuel cartridges inside, they will evaporate over time. Make sure to take them out and recap them when not in use so they last longer!

10 days in Michigans Upper Peninsula was the ultimate test. Not one mosquito bite. Thermacel is the bomb. Love It. I placed it 10 foot away from the group and it covered the area. We were camping and no one got bites but there were plenty of mosquitoes around. So happy I took it on the trip.
