## Overview

Mobilgrease 28 is a premium synthetic aviation grease engineered for extreme temperature resilience (-65°F to 300°C) and superior load-carrying capacity. Its unique PAO synthetic base and organo-clay thickener deliver exceptional low friction, water resistance, and durability, meeting rigorous MIL-PRF-81322 military standards. Trusted worldwide for over 30 years in military and commercial aircraft, it’s the go-to grease for professionals demanding flawless performance in the harshest conditions.

## Description

Mobilgrease 28 is a supreme performance, wide-temperature, antiwear grease designed to combine the unique features of a polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluid with an organo-clay (non-soap) thickener. Its consistency is between an NLGI No. 1 and No. 2 grease. It offers outstanding performance over a wide temperature range. The wax-free nature of the synthetic base fluid, together with its high viscosity index compared to mineral oils, provide excellent low temperature pumpability, very low starting and running torque, and can help reduce operating temperatures in the load zone of rolling element bearings. The clay thickener gives Mobilgrease 28 a high dropping point value of around 300ºC, which provides excellent stability at high temperatures. Mobil grease 28 resists water washing, provides superior load-carrying ability, reduces frictional drag, and prevents excessive wear. Tests show that Mobil grease 28 lubricates effectively rolling element bearings under conditions of high speeds and temperatures. Mobilgrease 28 has also shown excellent ability to lubricate heavily loaded sliding mechanisms, such as wing flap screw jacks. For more than 30 years, Mobilgrease 28 has been the multi-purpose grease of choice for military and related aviation applications, worldwide. Mobil - Mobilgrease 28 Aviation Grease Features and Benefits: A particular requirement of aviation greases is the need to resist high temperature stresses, while providing excellent starting and low torque at low-temperature. To meet this combination of needs ExxonMobil product formulation scientists chose synthetic hydrocarbon base oils for Mobilgrease 28 because of their low volatility, exceptional thermal/oxidative resistance, and superb low-temperature capability. Formulators chose specific thickener chemistry and a proprietary additive combination which helps maximize the benefits of the synthetic base oils.

Review: Top military/commercial grade grease recommended by an engineer who has put it to the test - I got it for here at home to do my garage door (runners, chain, etc.) and then put a dab on my car's sunroof and the drawers on my old roll-away chest. Everything is working better now and smoothly sliding quietly. The garage door went from squealing to quiet and is as smooth as glass. I chose this grease since it's what I worked with when I worked on aircraft actuators (commercial and military) as an engineer. I've personally tested this grease to military standards from -65F to 350F and it works flawlessly in that range. At -65F, I cold soaked my test article for 4 hours. When I applied power, it broke away without a hitch and started moving as required, even when I had added a ton of water to the test setup, this grease still broke free and moved smoothly. Performance at high temperature was never in doubt, it worked perfect. That's why this is used. If you've ever flown in a plane, you very likely had Mobil 28 in use all over the plane. The other one we saw use of is Aeroshell 7, but Mobil 28 was our more common. It's well regarded for staying where you put it. It migrates with moving parts as it should, but it doesn't splatter or drizzle off, etc. Can't recommend this grease enough. My parts are flying with it on military aircraft, so it should be fine for your regular uses.
Review: Used to regrease a BBS02 Ebike motor - From what I read online, it's recommended to replace the factory grease in Baofeng BBS02 ebike motors with this grease at or before 1000 miles for all motors, or immediately if your motor sounds a bit louder than it should and may not have enough grease from the factory. I did this at around 1000 miles and my ebike is now at 3500 miles with no motor issues, so seems to be doing its job. When replacing the grease, just wipe off as much of the factory grease as you can, then pack is much of this into the gears as you can, like you would when packing a wheel bearing. I still have a bunch of it left and it's good quality, so I'll probably use it for my car and other tools that need grease.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is this applied? I understood it came in a 16oz can, is that correct?**
A: Mobil 28 is a grease. This particular picture is the 14 oz tube and is applied by using a grease gun. We also sell this product in a 1/4oz kit which includes one 1/4 oz tin of Mobil 28, 1 pair of Black Latex Gloves, and 1 applicator brush. It is used on gun triggers specifically.

**Q: Is it safe on rubber?**
A: Yes, it is. It's a fully synthetic product.

**Q: Can this be used in fishing reels?**
A: Yes it can it is what I use for mine.

**Q: Hi ,this grease can be used to lubricate the polyurethane bush of the leaf spring??**
A: You can, but a general purpose, lithium complex NLGI #2 grease would be a better option for that application.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top military/commercial grade grease recommended by an engineer who has put it to the test

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for IBM selectrics
*by C***W on February 20, 2024*

The old IBM selectrics were designed with the intent of regular service. There are about 200 grease and oil points. While the original IBM grease has been NLA for decades, this appears to be the same formulation. Provides great lubrication and sticks where you put it. The last thing you want on a typewriter is to be slinging grease.
