Fun project - beautiful color!
I used this to rehab a printer stand I found at a yard sale several years ago. The color is a perfect light aqua. I finished it with a couple of coats of satin polycrylic, and it is just beautiful!

TOP PAINT FOR ME
This is by far the best chalk paint; it doesn't clump. unless of course you leave it open for several days. Most projects you only have to use one coat & can paint on furniture without sanding thats the great thing about it.

Chalk paint is super easy to work with
I refinished an old 90's oak side table in my living room to give it a new look with this chalk paint. I chose chalk paint because it is notoriously easy to work with, covers well, and is durable. The serene blue color was just beautiful, and a slightly unusual color for a wood piece. Yet it matched my living room decor perfectly. The paint is thick, thicker than latex or other paints you might be more familiar with. However, it goes on well and covers completely in just a coat or two. Best of all, there's no need for sanding first! I admit, it did scuff sand a little bit first, just to assure good adhesion, but this wasn't necessary according to the package directions. Once cured, the paint is very durable with a completely matte finish that easy to sand off if you want a more distressed look to your piece. For extra durability, you might consider covering with a polycrylic or wax. I used less than half of my quart-sized can for this table. Since chalk paint is so easy to work with, I am thinking about what else I can cover with my leftover paint!

BEWARE: Good Paint, HORRIBLE (SUB)PRIME SHIPPING
PRODUCT: 4 Stars SHIPPING: 0.0001 Stars and ONLY Because Shipping Thought to Box the Can So, I love this paint. It's not as good a product as Dixie Belle or, obviously, Annie Sloan, but the price is much better. I find that the tannins in wood tend to bleed through if you don't prime woods like pine (in particular) with the lighter colors (this blue, white, linen, etc.). But I don't mind the extra priming step. The paint is easy to distress, but I'm not sure about durability for that very reason. I've had some edge wear on earlier projects, but I'm trying a new topcoat to prevent that. The paint takes waxing or poly coating well. If you don't use a good (and I mean GOOD) brush, you're going to have drag lines in the finish. It just is what it is. This paint won't do any type of concealing for a mediocre paint job. But hit it with a super fine grit sand paper and dust it well before you finish coat it, and it looks great. Now, shipping. HOLY COW PILES, AMAZON! What were you THINKING? The box arrived in perfect condition but I was worried the minute I picked it up from the mailbox. The can was rolling around in the box. I crossed my fingers, opened the box and found a can that looked like it had been through riots and rampages then shipped through the apocalyptical postal service. One of the four metal tabs on the can had been knocked loose, paint was leaking out of the compromised seal, the can sides had SERIOUS body damage and the bottom of the can has an outward V-shaped crease like it was struck from inside with a wide chisel or King Kong tried to use this thing for a coffee cup and squeezed too hard. I'm disappointed Amazon would ship a product in this condition. No way was it THAT damaged in shipping if the box was fine. The box freaking would NOT have survived this type of abuse. So the product came from Amazon this way. THIS is what my Prime membership pays for? Really? For that, I'll just go to my local paint store and buy local. It's faster, doesn't cost me $99 a year and I know they aren't going to sell me a can I have to then find a replacement for. Seriously. The seal was so compromised, the paint leaking out, that I had to buy an empty paint can to store the paint in. Had I not, the paint would've dried out worse than the skim layer I took off the top after opening. BOTTOM LINE: This is a good product, much cheaper than alternatives but you do get what you pay for here. Think twice about ordering it from Amazon unless you have a spare paint can and a lot less give a flip than I do. (Side note: Rustoleum carries a spray-can matte finish for use with chalk paint. EXCELLENT product if you need a quick-seal finish!)

Excellent Paint
We needed to paint a large piece of wood to use as a headboard. Painted the wood using this paint then realized we needed a different color. Both the original painting experience (paint on wood) and the next (paint over paint) went perfectly. I am NOT fond of painting, particularly because of fumes and cleanup. This paint had ZERO detectable fumes and cleanup was easy. Soap and water. The paint covers well and dries quickly to a pleasing matte finish. And Rust-Oleum is a heck of a lot less expensive than a lot of the other designer brands' chalk paints. Seriously, what more could you want?

Love the texture
This is amazing. I love the texture. Can is too small so had to buy 2 other than that itโs perfect. Sticks properly, low mess and no clumping so easy to use in a sprayer. This was a fun project to do and this paint made me it worth it.

Good experience with my first major diy projects of this kind
I have a very old, but very well made dining room set that I got second-hand many years ago. Itโs comfortable, and a good size for my house, but does not match at all. Iโve been browsing new sets online for years now and just never pulled the trigger on a new set. I decided to try my first refinishing project and paint it. Itโs a light honey colored wood with hunter green paint and green inlaid tile on top. For now, all I have decided is the green needs to go and I want to paint the set white to match the room better. This is my first large chalked paint project, so while I conceptually know what Iโm doing (thanks, Pinterest!), I have no hands-on experience with anything close to a project this size. I started with just one chair so I could do this over a few weekends and still use the dining room as I went. The first thing I did is flipped over every chair and made sure the screws were good, joints were strong, and I added wood glue any place I thought it may need it. Once that dried I scrubbed down every surface with vinegar and water. Next, I took it outside and used a 220-grade sandpaper to sand off anything washing didnโt get off and to scratch up the surface of the chair to make the paint stick better. I did one more cleaning just to get all the sanding dust off the chair. Every other part of this project I did inside with the windows all open and fans on and let me tell you, if you can do this outside, do it. I had to stop and walk away more than once because I was starting to get a headache. There is almost no odor to the paint, but man it has some fumes going on. Iโm not usually that sensitive to fumes, so call this a practical warning. Anyway, the paint says itโs one coat. Perhaps I was using the wrong brush, or perhaps it was because I was painting a hunter green surface, but it took 3 coats for me to be satisfied. Ultimately, to the get texture I was looking for, I did a quick base coat with a brush, a second quick, but more even second coat, then I used a sponge to blot on a final coat. The paint dries so fast that by the time I finished the last section, the first part was dry and ready for a second coat. After a few hours of drying, I applied a layer of Minwax Paste Finishing Wax to the chair. I started trying to use a brush, lost patience fast and moved on to a rag. I need to go back and buff it some more, but even the way it looks right now is beautiful. Iโm so happy with how this project is turning out so far.

NOT Waterproof!!
This is ok but after applying and drying, it wiped off. It is important to know it is not waterproof and needs sealed after application.
