Ilya, The length of the screw driver with bit is exactly 6.75" inches. No not 18?" Where did that figure come from? CD

How do you remove/change the bit? i haven't been able to remove the bit to change it. the screwdriver was a hand me down. tia

I love these little screwdrivers and keep several stationed around the house in strategic locations. The same thing sometimes happens to me, especially with a new screwdriver. Typically it is the small phillips bits that are hard to grip in your fingers. You can pull the bit out with pliers to override the magnet holding it in. Then using a q-tip, make sure the end of the hex opening is clean. You can also polish the six sides of the hex on the bit by rubbing each face on a piece of 800 grit wet or dry paper laid on a tabletop. Finally, put the bit back in the screwdriver and sand around the exposed portion with 150 grit sandpaper. This will make it rough enough to get a good grip on it without the pliers. You can buy other bits for this at the hardware store. I keep a number 1 square in my screwdriver for electrical work.

Is it magnetic? Can it hold screws?

Fiberglass reinforced nylon construction, electrically safe, UL tested 2000 volts. Rare earth magnet retains both bits and screws, includes 2 phillips and 2 slotted standard power bits, all are retained in handle.

Is it difficult to take out bits from handle?

Nope. They slide out with a finger, but stay put otherwise. In my opinion, they are easier than most multi-bit screwdrivers.
