Fantastic add-in for the PCM 3.1 for Porsche
Installed this in my 2015 Boxster S. The daughterboard that is installed inside the head unit fit very well with the XM antenna mount. The Kit I received came with 6 standoffs to adjust the height of the XM receiver inside the PCM.Everything went smooth with the install but allow some time for the install. I admit I was unusually careful, and it took about 6 hours to complete. Wireless works great! Not hard to pair and start up, works as advertised. When I start the car, the unit pairs up automatically and brings up the Carplay Menu. I recommend this for anyone looking to add Carplay to their PCM 3.1

If only this had better directions…
I never write reviews but this is definitely needed. I think the lack of written instruction and super clear video guide is what holds this product back from having 5 stars. The kit comes complete with everything needed except for really good instructions. If you are NOT a DIYer or comfortable with replacing a radio in general, this isn’t for you to install. I installed this with a buddy of mine who is more comfortable with wiring - I am far from a car audio installer…and yet, I have not had a single issue. The sound quality is crisp, it never cuts out, and it always connects and simply works.Good bang for the buck.

An absolute inferior product
The CarPlay only works once a while. I tried everything and still no sound. I have been reading up on it on Rennlist and other Porsche forum. They said I need to plug in a dummy plug into the AUX port but still no luck. I was also told by Joyeauto to use Aux mode which I did and still no sound. The interface is definitely not steady and doesn't respond once a while.Don’t waste your money and look elsewhere. There’s another version (just a board) which doesn’t require an external box which is annoying and troublesome.

Buy only if you know how to install on your own.
I wish I had never tried this product. First of all, I contacted them prior to my purchase tao confirm that it doesn't need to be connected to my fusebox and I was assured that it doesn't as it gets its power from the head unit harness. Well, it did have to be connected to ACC. Once connected, the factory backup camera would not work. Then the pcm started rebooting. Of course, the instructions provided were virtually non-existent and they basically have no support. So I decided to just remove it and return it. Once I reconnected my head unit back to its original connections, I noticed that my navigations maps don't load and my phone connects via bluetooth but there is no audio and there is no Audio BT option anymore. Their unit managed to completely destroy my head unit. Now I have to replace my original head unit and/or re-install the firmware both of which will be expensive and I still won't have Airplay capability in the end.UPDATE: I was able to get it all fixed, no thanks to JoyeAuto. The backup camera problem was unrelated. Apparently it doesn’t work if you have your emergency break on. I just never noticed it before. The disappearance of the BT on the original head unit was resolved by updating its firmware which was not easy to find anywhere and dealer wanted to charge $450 to do. Still not sure why it caused that problem but I’m guessing it had to do with the poor instructions. It also requires using an accessory fuse but they don’t tell you which one to use. Instructions also don’t tell you where to tuck the control unit or how to run the wires. In the end, I’m satisfied with the hardware itself but can’t in good conscience recommend this because of the lack of instructions and poor post-sale support.

Works nicely, but aspect ratio is stretched up
When connected, Apple CarPlay works great just as in any other OEM cars. However, the aspect ratio is slightly streched up (contents look skinny, won’t be easily noticeable in photos). If you are meticulous with these things it is quite annoying, and I haven’t found a way to adjust it. Colors are also cooler than they should be.I have also not found a way to have it connect automatically to my iPhone. Every time I enter the car I have to connect to Joyeauto on bluetooth to make it work.

Excellent product, worth the money!
I didn’t see much information out there in regards to this unit but decided to take the risk in ordering it anyways, and I’m glad I did! Works exactly as stated. No lag, no issues. I didn’t install it so I can’t speak to that, but the audio shop did it in one day and didn’t mention any issues. If you’ve been looking for this it’s a must to bring a dated system into 2021!

It works!
The son in law and I installed last weekend on an imported German car that it was specd for. The install of the mother board went well. The extra screw extenders provided were very helpful. The challenge was fitting all that under dash. Very challenging as the German car manufacturer is very skilled at their design of the interior space and under the dash. But after two try’s, we were successful. Turned it on, entered the WiFi address and Voila, Apple Play appeared and operated successfully! I am a satisfied customer at this point. Now comes the use and road vibrations. What will be its durability? Stay tuned

Poor audio quality and volume
After I followed a very tedious install process that included breaking open the PCM head unit, I got everything installed and reassembled. Once reconnected I noticed the audio quality and volume level. The sound was quiet and when the volume was turned up to max, I could hear crackles in the sound quality. Volume-wise, I couldn't turn up the sound any more than probably 1/4 of what it should be. To double-check my radio and speakers - I turned back to the FM radio which sounds amazing. When you set all of the technology aside, the audio is simply transported by a low-quality 3.5mm audio cable. If you want car audio quality circa 2001, this product is for you!I expected a better quality product for this price. Avoid. Do not buy.
