Capezio's Jr. Footlight shoe is perfect for any performance, whether it's character, theatrical, or you can even attach taps on its stitched leather sole. The shoe features a traditional buckle closure for custom fitting, and a shapely, mid-cut heel that's just the right height. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.  The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.  Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide. Moisture absorbent microfiber lining

See the picture of these Capezios size 7. 5 ...
See the picture of these Capezios size 7.5 in comparison to Bloch Dance Women's Broadway LO in size 8. They are the same length. These Capezios run true to size lengthwise, but Blochs run small. Speaking about width the opposite is true - the Capezios are much narrower. We are keeping the Blochs due to the width. The both models are man made upper and leather sole, so

great for salsa dancing!
The first time I wore these shoes, I danced for 3 hours! II usually wear a size 8, but purchased a 8.5 just to be safe. My toes do not feel compressed, I feel like I am walking on clouds, and I can dance without experiencing pain or worrying about the shoes coming off my feet. I wear it without socks.

The most comfortable dress shoe you will ever own.
I was recently a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and knew I would have a long day of standing for photos and the ceremony, followed by several more hours of standing and dancing during the reception. As a former ballet dancer, I know how comfortable and well made Capezio products are. These shoes did not disappoint. They may not look as cute as a pair of open toe slingback pumps but after 9 hours on my feet, I was the only member of the bridal party who didn't leave the reception barefoot with feet covered in blisters. They are the perfect dress shoe for any occasion, especially ones that require you to be on your feet for hours at a time. I also have a pair in black.

Great for all night dancing
These shoes are great! I received them yesterday and wore them for four hours at a dance last night and my feet didn't hurt last night and don't hurt today. They are totally comfortable and feel like good quality. When I first tried them on and walked around my house I thought the soles might be a little slippery but wearing them on the dance floor last night I wasn't slipping at all. I followed the advice of other people from the reviews I had read and ordered 1/2 size larger and they fit perfect. And just to let you know I have a very wide foot and normally have trouble with a shoe feeling too narrow and I just got a regular size I didn't even get the wide width and they're perfect

I love these shoes
I love these shoes. They fit nice and snug, very comfortable, very flexible, I can run up a flight of stairs and not feel like my shoes are going to leave my feet. I work in a small office and I can wear these all day with no problem. I've read reviews where you shouldn't wear them off the dance floor, but I am going to wear these in the street and office, with jeans, dresses, etc. Very pleased! I've attached a picture.

My favorite character shoe!
A perfect character shoe. I use these for theater and they are great. I can walk, dance, etc for two hours in them without pain. They are well constructed and you definitely get your money's worth. For theater and dance purposes, the shoe is dressy enough for performance without being indiciative of any time period. They run true to size.

Don't last
If I'd written this right away I would have given them 5 stars, but after a month the heels came unglued and I nearly hurt myself when it shifted as I landed from jumping. I was wearing them as character shoes for a play... lots of running around but not too strenuous dancing. For a brand like Capezio I would have expected them to last longer. Disappointed.

Strap broke before use!
I bought these last minutes before my recital last week. Item was received promptly, however, when I tried them on and wore them around the house, the strap completely broke. It ripped right out of the shoe (see photo). I had to use them for 8 shows so I tried super glue and it ripped out again the first dance I did. I ended up having to wear a hair tie around my foot to keep it from flying off during my recital. NOT HAPPY!! :(

Seems pretty stupid. Have had to send them back
Unfortunately these come up very small - I am a size 5 1/2 or 6 normally, so I ordered the 6 and they were much too small. And very narrow. Seems pretty stupid. Have had to send them back. Also, not happy about the postage - you have to pay delivery costs, and for the return I also have to pay delivery costs! So in total I am going to be paying about ยฃ8 just in postage, and I end up with no shoes!!RIP OFF.

Toe tapping great!
These shoes are fantastic!I bought these to have for teaching dancing with a musical I am choreographing and they fit the bill superbly. The heel is not too high but is perfect for wearing all the time. I wear them for hours on end and have never once caused me any pain or discomfort. The make is fabulous. What a fantastic price for such a well known brand. The cushion inside allows you to put pressure on certain points without any uncomfortable impact to your feet. The strap keeps you well secured.I would advise anyone who wants to do ballroom dancing (it gives you the height to get used to putting pressure on the balls of your feet, so perfect for practice and newbees) and other styles of dance (except street/hip hop or ballet)WARNING: These shoes are made small! You need to get one size up from your regular size. Now I buy a size 7 (uk) in shoes normally but i'm more a 6 and a half. I got a 7 and a half in these and they were perfect. But even if you have a narrow foot - you still need to get a bigger size. I know from a friend that this is true.

Think before you buy as you pay postage and returns!
My daughter is a adult size 5 she hasnโt particularly wife feet. I read the reviews and took the advice to buy a size bigger. I got the 6 and it was ridiculous. They were so tight! So great for extremely slim feet. I paid postage and I had to pay for it to be sent back so lost a lot of money! So be careful!

Good fit, reasonable price
Even better fit than the previous pair I bought several years ago and which has split. With PVC, as this is, splitting can be a problem, which is a shame when the rest of the shoe is intact. However, I have found that the PVC is actually better in the long-run than 'leather', which is usually only coated and becomes much more easily scuffed and unusable for performances.

Comfort at it's best
I love. love these shoes. Wish I'd discovered them years ago. No "Walking " them like all new shoes. SO comfortable. Was advised to go up a half size so instead of 7&1/2 went for 8. Bliss to wear ALL day. Have another colour put away for Granddaughters wedding in August. Best purchase EVER.
