Comprehensive, covers all aspects of Hindu spiritual practices, Sadhana.The yoga shoes are covered, various forms of mantra, explained in a user-friendly way. The only problem is the Sanskrit vocabulary thrown around and the book needs editing, some parts repeat in the book - very encouraging and practical.You will need to keep a running list of Sanskrit to English vocabulary on hand a size you read. It’s doable though annoying.

Within the first five pages of reading it is so obvious that here is the work of a great Teacher. Clear, concise, and beaming with the aura of lived experience, Sadhana is a must read for every serious student of yoga, spirituality, and eastern philosophy. Keep in mind this is not for a beginner on the Path. Otherwise, definitely buy this book. The only thing that may be of issue is the continuous and profuse use of Sanskrit terminology. The technical terms are often given in English afterward but not always; also there are quotes from the sacred texts that are often left in transliterated Sanskrit without translation. All in all, this is a speck of dust on a brilliant mirror.

Possibly the most important book I've ever read. Clear and specific instruction in yoga sadhana. I've been reading it every morning after my japa and meditation. Highly recommended for those serious about spiritual practice.

One of the best spiritual books ever written. Illumining. Inspiring. Full of wisdom on every aspect of the spiritual life. I highly recommend it regardless of which path you follow.

Maybe its a different looking cover, but seems like a quality thick hardback. Not the purple background and bald headed man. I plan to open up and see if its 700 pages. Hopefully its the same but just different picture on front

Sri Swami Sivananda's work always resonates well in my heart. He was one of the greatest saints of our time. I am very blessed that he is part of my Guru Shishya Parampara and he has left such a wonderful legacy.In this book, Sri Swami Sivananda gives great direction to help devotees build a solid foundation in their spiritual practice. One of the greatest books ever written on spiritual practice. Massive, comprehensive and authoritative and by one of the greatest yoga masters of all time.

Must read book for any person with inclination towadrs spirituality . It increases knowledge many folds !

Peu de livres de Sivananda ont été traduit en Français malgré le fait qu'il en a écrit 300 ! Il faut donc se tourner vers les originaux et cet ouvrage, sûrement le plus intéressant de sa collection mais surtout le plus utile, ravira les yogis qui cherchent dans les nombreuses pratiques yogiques la ou les sadhanas qui seront susceptibles de l'intéresser. Le livre est arrivé en parfait état en moins d'une semaine bien protégé sous un film plastique. Il est relié ce qui lui assure une bonne résistance et le papier et l'impression sont de qualité malgré que la jaquette dont l'image ne correspond pas à ce qui est montré ici soit de couleurs passablement délavées. Sivananda passe en revue toutes les sadhanas possibles et imaginables qui peuvent exister et dont il peut avoir connaissance. Ce yogi était un puits de sciences spirituelles Hindoues et cet ouvrage est une véritable mine d'or que je conseille vivement.
