The 1/2” aluminum rod is great for various projects. I used it to add a pannier mount on my E-Trike. The battery mounts in the rack and does not leave room to get the clips on the pannier to attach to the rack. I used tubing clamps to mount 12” pieces of the rod to hang the pannier. It’s very convenient to be able to order things of this nature from Amazon. Rather than finding a supplier that sells metal only in full length pieces.

This rod is machined with loose parameters and will not work as a shaft, but it will work great as a raw material should you wish to make things from it.I bought this rod to use as a shaft for a buffing set up and paired it with some pillow block bearings, also available on Amazon. As you can see from the photo, these products did not mesh well, even though their dimensions suggest they should fit.If you're buying aluminum rod to cut up and make things, then this is great.

its a rod - what can I say.

This was a "must have" for me. I need an accurate rod that I can cut to length to chuck into my MT2 collet chuck mounted on a floor stand drill press, and after lathe cutting a sharp point on the piece of rod I am using, I can chuck it up and use it to always center my end mill bit to the drilling table.

Was able to easily fit 1/2in bearings onto the rod for my project.
