Alpine Swiss Duffy Womens Wool Coat Fur Trim Hooded Parka Jacket

I love my jackets roomy since I’m traveling to the mountains the end of next month. I usually buy large; so this time I went extra large for layering. It was tight around the chest and arms; so, I bought a two X and it fit with room for my sweater and undershirt. The jacket really looks good and has a great price. I can’t wait to wear it.

It's definitely more of a "fashion winter coat" than a true winter coat- as in I live in the Northeastern US and wouldn't plan on spending more than a half hour outside on a nice winter day wearing this. Also, I found the shoulders to be a little on the narrow side but not uncomfortably so and the fur trim does shed more than I'd like. My biggest issue with the coat is actually the size of the pockets, they are tiny! Seriously, don't expect to be able to carry a phone or wallet in them- that's not happening. That said, I do really like the cut and color of the coat. I think it's very flattering and I've gotten many compliments on the coat. And the fit chart was accurate for me.

I love the fit and look of this jacket. Hits at my thigh and covers my bottom. It is not too long as to make me look like I’m drowning in it. I’m 5’2 so it is perfect. It’s also warm enough for most days. I like that it has a zipper and toggle buttons as well. The only problem is that the pockets are small because the toggle buttons were sewn into the pockets. I was disappointed that a jacket so perfect could have such a defect. I rely on my pockets to carry my phone and I am afraid it will fall out of I’m not careful.

I really like this coat - it has a nice somewhat fitted look, and more or less each component feels well crafted, and the red color looks really nice. With the well defined shoulders and slick look it has a vague military feel without the hood, and kind of a more refined winter parka look when the hood is on.In terms of size, I found the XXL is probably the best fit for me (I typically wear 1X, or 16~18). The sleeves come down past my arm a little bit, and the jacket length hits me about mid-thigh. There is a minor issue in the shoulders in that they are slightly tight, but I still have a pretty decent range of motion and it feels like I would have to pull pretty hard to damage the coat, so it doesn't bother me.Styling is pretty nice, too. There is a zipper that keeps the coat closed, and a second that allows you to add or remove the hood - both slide easily, and are hidden when worn. There are four snaps throughout the coat - 1 on each end of the body zipper (so near the bottom of the coat and near the neck), and 2 that keep the hood closed and in place when it's up. The clasps on the outside look cute, but I find the top two come undone sometimes (they are loose enough that there isn't really any tension keeping them in place).Other than that I find the coat really functional. It's pretty warm, and the high collar and thick hood are nice against some of the winter wind we have here in Portland. When it arrived we had days in the 20s and 30s with strong winds, and I felt pretty warm in the coat. Now it's in the 30s and 40s with softer wind, and I find the coat is still a nice match, particularly if I take the hood off and wear it open in the warmer stretches.Very happy with my purchase - it was on sale for $50 and I feel I'd have been happy to pay full price :)

Overall this coat was a good buy, although it does have some issues. I am 5'11", weigh about 165 and typically wear a size 10 or 12, preferably tall. Many reviewers here said the sleeves run long, so I took a chance on the coat and am very pleased with the sleeve length, which is beyond my wrist and overlaps my gloves very well. As others have said, I find the upper arm a bit tight and probably could not wear this over 2 semi-thick layers. It did work over a t-shirt and light sweater combo. Otherwise the fit is good, not too snug with a good length even for me. The hood is more for show than function as it is very loose and does not stay up when walking or in even a light wind. It does not have a drawstring tie, so the only way to close it is the snaps at the top of the collar above the zipper, and again it's very loose. The collar helps with staying warm. The other 2 main concerns I have are that the zipper is bright gold and looks cheesy, but when the coat is fully closed with the toggles you can't see the zipper, and that the pockets are not well made. They are a thin fabric that will probably tear before long if used for keys and such, they are not deep at all, and one of them has gimpy sewing that makes it bunch up, reducing the capacity and making it harder to put anything in there without worrying it will fall out. When fully zipped the coat does block the wind well.

Love this coat. Was having a hard time finding a coat that gives you some sort of flattering shape instead of a potato sack. Took a chance on this and it worked out. I ordered a large since they’re Asian sized. I’m 5’9”, 150 lbs or so🤣. Sleeves are surprisingly long👍 Coat covers my bum👍 And has some shape to the waist. Fur on hood is shedding a bit, so 4 stars. Inside is nicely quilted, outer shell is wool blend. I could have fit into a medium, but I think that it would have been too tight around my chest especially if I was wearing a sweater underneath. For $30, can’t beat it. More expensive coats didn’t look nearly as flattering, and maybe this one isn’t as warm for the artic, but it’s more of an everyday coat not for making snowmen. 🤣I should mention I have a small waist, and hips and thunder thighs 😝, and 36C chest. So kinda hourglass, real woman curves. If you’re straight shaped, probably be too big in the lower half. Overall, I recommend, and it’s free returns anyway. I also got it in grey, and the zipper feels a little loose, like it’s a cheap option. It’s not a YKK zipper. But I’m not planning on yanking the crap out of it, so I think it’ll be fine.

Jacket length is perfect. I’m 5’2’’ and 125lbs, so I ordered a small and I can fit a small sweatshirt and still fits chest and waste. Very warm and surprisingly durable material. Not too long either, it sits right above my thigh starts. I love it and the hood is so soft!

Received earlier than expected. Very nice, good fit. I probably could have sized down but wasn't sure if a heavy sweater would fit with it. I gave it a 4 star only because it has a hole in one pocket.

Love this coat. Warm and feels great. I ordered a large which had some room for a sweater if needed. I also ordered a medium which is more form fitting. No complaints. Great buy!
