You can do this too
I've been drawing and painting for many years; but I do enjoy collecting drawing books. Occasionally I encourage people to draw who are fixated on believing that they cannot draw. I can prove them wrong. This book approaches drawing in a very basic manner, step by step. I won't say you will create a perfect drawing the very first time; but you will be amazed how close you can come. If you can draw circles, ovals, squares, rectangles and triangles, you will be able to use this book. One thing, this book is entirely pictorial. You will need another type of drawing book to find out more about supplies and techniques. If you are a practiced artist, you already have that information and if you are a beginner, just grab a pencil, paper and eraser. make your drawing and color it in. I think you will have a good time and for the price, how can you lose.

Cat Drawing Reference
This book will be great to have when I want to add a cat to one of my paintings. Since I no longer have any kitties, this is a great reference. It breaks down the shapes well to show various poses and motions. Very good reference book for drawing.

Gift
I bought this as a gift. It looks like it will be detailed enough for my college age daughter to enjoy. I had to return it once though because it came in a plastic bag and was bent.

Drawing the Birthday Cat
I have not spent the time I need yet to get the cat drawing done that I want to do for my brother's birthday card. However, I have picked a cat pose put and get on with drawing it. The book helps me see different poses of cats if not the exact cat I want.

Basic and easy to follow
I've done landscapes and plants, but never cats in sketches. Wanted the basics and had doubts about capturing the mystical dynamic looks cats can have, but this sketch instruction book has made a novice like myself come-up with some good drawings. I recommend to anyone learning for the first time. It would certainly be suitable for the young artist of around 11 yrs. plus too. I can see it giving them more confidence to try more :)

Don't buy
This book is not good. The main picture to sketch is at the very bottom and beside it is the painted cat. These are the only real indications that are at all useful and they are so small (about 2 inches, if that) so in order to be able to use them you would need to enlarge them. Skip this book and buy a much better one, which shouldn't be hard. There are 16 pages.

Not great for a beginner.
There are no written instructions in this book at all, only diagrams. Which would be fine if there were more steps to each diagram. This book is OK in order to learn the basic outline for different cat positions /poses. However, as another reviewer said, the diagrams quickly jump from a partially completed cat to a finished sketch. Shading, adding details and markings... It is assumed that you will know how to go about this without instructions. All you can do as a beginner is try and copy what is in front of you. So I don't feel as though I am learning any skills aside from copying.I also purchased How to Draw Cats and Kittens by Mark Bergin which is much more suitable for beginners. There are some basic written instructions about technique and its generally more thorough without being daunting. This book was far too simplistic and I feel it was a waste of money, unfortunately.

All except one what I wanted/ needed.
Very satisfied with all but one of the products. The one I didn't like I sent back because it was the wrong one for the cage. Managed to buy the right one locally and not even that one fits the cage properly. Spent an hour getting it on. Very poor product. The Festive Baroque book is the best flute book I've got and I like playing along with the CD.
