Sashiko Notions - Hidamari Sashiko Needles with Needle Threader

I was back and forth between a few different brands and ended up ordering, one of the reasons being for the golden colored eyes to help differentiate the Sashiko needles from my others so I wouldn't accidentally get them mixed. I've so far only used the shortest for embroidery on denim, but have been impressed with the sharpness and strength of the needle. The eye is large enough to (with some technique) thread a full 6-strand embroidery floss through the eye.The needle threader that came with the pack is a joke, as most threaders are (at least, in my hands), and I tore it apart the first time I tried to use it. It and the needle eyes just aren't compatible with a doubled floss thread, I can't imagine it holding up too well against Sashiko thread either.I do wish the lovely gold around the eyes was more durable. It rubbed off within 60 stitches. Passing through the denim material was apparently abrasive enough the gold became a mere hint of its former self, so I have to carefully re-package the needle to keep it apart from my others.Overall, the needle has performed well, and I do recommend them if you're looking for good, thick, sturdy needles. The variety pack is fantastic for selecting what works best for your project.

Really nice small set of needles, not dull and easy to work with. The package surprisingly came with a bag/purse holder as well.

I was using one of the needles to stitch through the seam of some jeans and the eye of the needle broke while I was pushing the needle through. Stabbed my finger a bit, but nothing serious.Otherwise they have worked well. It sucks that I am now short one needle.

Very good quality product, but I wish more of them were the length of the longest needles, which are the most useful for sashiko.

The needles are perfect but a great surprise came when I saw they were shipped from Shibori Dragon the most beautiful quilt and textile art store I ever visited. Love that place! Great selection and wonderful service.
