Very Effective - Seems Non-Toxic
This review references the action of Qik Joe Ice Melt pellets in the Mid-Atlantic area. I'm not sure how it would work in colder climes. And this is the first winter (2014-2015) I have used it. I'm on my second bag and about to order a 3rd.It melts ice and snow very fast and very completely. As there is no apparent residue, unlike rock salt, I hope that it proves non-toxic to the plants I have next to the places I have scattered it.The only downside is that it is somewhat expensive. But since we run a home-based business, it's important for us to keep our front entrance safe.Unless there is a hidden flaw, it will be my ice/snow treatment of choice.

Outstanding!
I use this not only to melt ice, but also as a dehumidifier. Simply put some in some old egg cartons, put them in the room that is musty, (such as a basement) and they will soak up all the humidity in the air within just a few days. Worth every penny!

Hot!
Our first snow of the season came in the form of a blizzard followed by clear skies and extraordinarily low daytime temperatures. Qik Joe impressed me by how quickly it worked and how long it kept working. When the next snow was predicted I sprinkled Qik Joe on all the places I need to clear. The snow didn't accumulate as quickly as it did on the untreated areas and removing what did stick was a breeze. Finally, Qik Joe did not leave any chalky residue on our brick walk and patio. Excellent product.

Pellet or Powder ... no shipping cost on 2nd bag
Pellet or PowderI responded incorrectly to a customer question.They wanted to know if this was a pellet or powder.I just received my own bag today and it is BETWEENa pellet and powder. I might even be smaller than Kosher salt.But it does work and the shipping cost for two is the same as the shipping cost for one.So free shipping on the second bag

It works!
Works great. Bought for my parents out of state and they were very happy with the way it melted 2/4-1/2 inch of ice and kept it away overnight. ... They have a small ankle biter style dog and have not reported any sensitivity issues from her.
