Very good quality flour
Good quality fine flour, perfect for all kinds of bread. Delivery fast and product in tact everytime up to now. I have had no problems and have used this product again and again. For a regular Baker the 16kg size lasts and keeps well with a cable tie around the outer plastic bag...I have had no clumping or damp. Bread turns out soft and even every time. Good quality product.

an absolute pleasure and dream to work with - fantastic results
I'd never heard of Heygate before, but it is from now on my 'go-to' brand, including the seller Food Service Direct, who, whilst others try profiteering from the Covid-lockdown, they have kept their prices at an incredibly reasonable level (working out £1 per kg).It is silky smooth to the touch, and when it came to kneading it the texture and elasticity was absolutely perfect, making it a near effortless task (given liquid to flour ratio are correct).I've never had a dough rise exactly double in size, but Heygates' did, and then some - I was amazed!The ease in which the dough was kneaded, and knocked back brought me so much joy, I have been able to start baking again even with weakness, and pain in upper body and limbs due to disability.I use a KMix dough hook to do the initial mixing, then turn it out onto the work top. But even without a KMix blender there was outstanding performce with this flour, producing great results.The Pitta breads in the photo had just come out from the oven, their texture light, soft, and minimal salt and flavourings required.I have now ordered their Plain Flour, and will be waiting for Self-Raising to come back into stock.

Arrived early
Arrived in good condition, update this flour is perfectfor bread making, don't know what rubbish is in shop bought bread but this flour makes excellent bread and tastes better than the shops.

Great quality bread flour
Arrived quickly and very safely and securely packaged. I have used the flour to bake two loaves so far - I was previously using another flour supplied through Amazon but it has increased so much in price I changed to this one based on 5* reviews from other buyers - they aren't wrong! I, and the rest of the family, are very pleased with the taste of the bread that the flour produces. It is as good as the previous flour I used and about half the price. For information I use a very old bread making machine to make the dough and then leave it to stand for an hour before knocking it down and then putting it in the bread tin and leaving to stand for another hour before baking in a hot oven for 35 minutes. Each time it stands the dough doubles in size within an hour which is exactly what one is hoping for. Yeast used is Allinsons quick yeast. I thought that a 16Kg bag might be a bit big but with results like this it will get used pretty quickly I think.

Essentially a commercial flour, poorly packaged
The vitamin C (ascorbic acid) additive in this flour absolutely supercharges it! The rise and oven spring you get is incredible; even my sourdough starter was bubbling out of the jar making its bid for escape! For an amateur baker, it's a lovely flour to handle and work with but ultimately unsatisfying. The results are very much like commercially-bought bread. Granted, I have only made one loaf with it so far - 100% white - just to test it. From here on out, I shall be doctoring the flour with heavy quantities of wholewheat, buckwheat, rye and whatever else I can get my hands on.My main negative is that the paper sack broke in transit probably due to the fact that the box it is shipped in is too big, allowing lots of movement.In summary, fun to bake with - results pretty much guaranteed. My wife really likes the taste too, so it will definitely suit some people. I'm also grateful for the reasonable pricing and availability in these difficult times. Don't expect artisan loaf quality and flavour however.

High hydration strong bread flour
Great flour for making my sourdough. Good amount of protein allows for a reasonably high hydration level at around 71%. Attached is a photo of my sourdough with this flour.

Good quality flour at a civilised price.
I bought this because my local supermarkets and local shops have been out of flour for the last 3 weeks. It seems flour is the next big thing to stockpile after the toilet paper bubble popped. One thing I really appreciate is that the sellers price was civilised, no price gouging like every other seller and for that they deserve my business. Even the express delivery was civilised at under £2.Since the lockdown we have been baking almost daily (foccacia, bread and pizza bases). I can confirm this flour is great for our purposes everything has turned out perfect (well, appart from the occasional recipe mishap but that isn't the flours fault) and the flavour is great.I was initially hesitant about buying such a large bag of flour as I didn't want to waste perfectly good food. However, after speaking to our neighbours and finding that they have the same problem, we have had an opportunity for some community spirit and redeistribute some of the sack.Even after lockdown these guys have secured my ongoing business.
