Worked well for my external fuel tank instal
I have been driving around in a 1971 W200 dodge truck with no fuel gage, it gets horrendous fuel mileage and was driving me crazy, I just found a 29gal marine tank and installed it today. The flange fit the tank perfectly, it takes a bit of finagling to get the float in, but the instructions where very clear for installation and the adjustments needed to fit your particular tank. I spent considerable time prepping the tank and where it was located. The gage ( I purchased the Bosch one) will not work with just the sender alone hooked up you have too and should ground the tank ( I ran mine to the frame) Im so stoked to have an accurate level of measurement in the old girl.

replaced my rusted on one boat - works perfect, spot on and instructions gr8
Fitted this to my searay boat and it worked great. Only issue is I couldnt get the arm to be short enough (according to the instructions) as the bolts caught in the slider - I just removed the whole 2nd bracket and used the parts to make it the right length. Works perfectly! I used permatex to seal it - not regular rtv. Cant even smell a bit of gas - very happy and great price!

A lot of extra work but it works.
The only reason for the 4 star rating is that the unit couldn't be adjusted down to the 5-3/16" length without disassembling and cutting off an inch of the frame. Also had to use the old top be cutting the welds on the new unit and mounting the sending unit to the old top. But, it has been many years since my 75 CJ5 has had a fuel gauge and so far it is working with the new Bosch gauge that I purchased with this unit.😁

Unreliable Construction
After about six months of use, the float arm weld broke, causing the gauge to give a false “full” reading. When I removed the unit, I found the float arm at the bottom of the tank. I ordered a replacement, thinking it was a one-off defect, but the new unit arrived already broken in the same spot. The weld holding the float arm is extremely small and weak, making this design unreliable.

This is a great universal sending unit
I have to laugh at those that give universal sending units a bad review. Of course universal means you might have to do some modifications according to the tank. This unit is replacing a sending unit in my 1985 Mack MS250P Mid Liner, with a 75 gallon tank and 1 million miles. It was almost perfect, and after some adjustments, it is perfect. I really don't care about the in between calibration. I wanted to know when it was full and when it was empty. A mechanically fuel injected diesel run out of fuel is a lot of trouble. Mechanical fuel injectors do not pump air worth two cents. Every one knows that. This sending unit is the answer, especially when the part is obsolete. Its perfect. Anyone that cannot modify the install needs to hire it done. There you go. Great product and the price is right. S

Works with 1965 Volkswagen Bus
Installed this on a 1965 Volkswagen bus. The height was a little too long, even after adjustment but it was easy to cut off the excess length with a grinder. Make sure you bench test the float length before you install it. I found that their suggested measurements were not correct and caused the gauge to not go all the way to full or empty. It's an easy thing to test and adjust. Works great once installed.

Defective weld
Installed this in an older skid loader. Worked fine for minutes then no reading. Pulled it back out to find the weld holding the float arm had broken. There's barely a spec of fused material. Now I'm stuck with a float arm in the tank I cannot retrieve through the two inch hole. Otherwise it appears to be quality piece at a great price. Hoping it was a one off flaw.

Universal means you adapt it to you're application
The product is very easy to adapt and modify. The chart that comes in the instructions give clear and specific measurements to trim the critical parts down to for any given tank depth in the ranges this sender was meant to satisfy. This is a very easy sender to install. Anyone leaving negative reviews saying it doesnt fit either has a deeper tank or is not mechanically inclined enough to understand how to trim a bracket or adjust a rod length and tighten set screws. Great value and a great product. I am happy with it.

Well Made Float and Arm
I only utilise the float and arm to modify a fuel level sensor , addressing a BMW PHEV faulty fuel indicator issue which the local BMW dealer couldn't resolve. So no comments on other parts of this sensor. The float is well made, the shape suits my anti-sloshing design of a fuel sensor float. The float arm appears to be made of stainless steel. it's rigid, good for stable and reliable reading of the fuel level.

Working great. Instructions were very good.
The bolt pattern matched perfectly, which was my biggest concern. I did have to cut just a bit off the bottom slider just below the sending unit to fit in the hole in the tank. Very stable reading, and level was very close to what I expected to see on the gauge.
