Do they come in pairs, as shown, for that price?

They come as a set of two. Enough for one pair of shoes.

What happens to the rest of the shoelace? Is it tucked into shoe? Do you cut it off?

Your question is answered in two of the videos on this page. After installing the zubits, use the clips to slip over the laces and adjust for tightness. Then cut the rest of the lace off and tuck the ends in the side of your shoes. I do wonder though how much I am going to feel that little piece of plastic that holds the end of the cut lace. I'm sure it'd bother me.

I am a cross cuntery runner, will they still stay together when I am out running? I cant afford for them to come apart and slow me down.

They will stay stronger than ever.. I have a hard time taking them apart that's how strong the magnetic joint is.. Trust me you'll be fine

Description

NEVER TIE LACES AGAIN! Zubits magnetic lacing solution is quite simply the fastest and easiest way to get in and out of your own shoes! No tying, no knots, no laces coming undone, no sloppy bows.
HOW IT WORKS: Install the magnets by lacing them into your own shoelaces. When the Zubits magnets are separated it’s as if you have no shoelaces at all, so you can easily slide into shoes like slippers. Then just pull the magnets together and click, that’s it! Go for a run. Afterwards, just step on your heel and pop out of your shoes hands-free.
WORKS FOR EVERYONE: From kids to seniors, Zubits no-tie laces convert any lace-up shoe into an easy slip-on in seconds. No knots and no laces coming undone. Works on most any shoes with laces, giving the whole family a simple, independent way to put on and take off their shoes. Loved by people with special needs, disabilities, or have trouble tying laces.
REUSABLE: Unlike other “no tie” solutions, Zubits closures can be used over and over again on new shoes for years, making them a great value. They last way longer than elastic laces.
THREE SIZES FOR EVERY ACTIVITY LEVEL: Larger sizes have greater strength. SIZE #1 is recommended for ages 0-8, elders, or light walking. SIZE #2 is for ages 9 to adult for most activity including men who run. SIZE #3 is for sports, performance, large adults over 190lbs, or tight lacing.
