Good picture, good range of control for sound/motion, works well with the app
This is a great little camera for the price. I was curious as to how it would fit in with our 8 channel Swann CCTV but it really is independent of that, however, it is set up from within the same online SWANN account, so when I go to the Swann Security App, which is running great on Android 9.0, it comes up at the TOP of my feed, so I see this camera's picture, then the cams from my CCTV set. You can name each camera whatever you want, and change the settings from the app. For instance, when I am at home, I don't want the siren going off, but if I leave I can turn it on from the app, or change sensitivities to sound or motion. I can also turn the alarm off using the app. It offers several settings for motion detection or sound detection. There's only one cord, and that's power. It uses a micro USB to wall plug in for power. Set up took me at most 5 minutes, but I already had a Swann account. It might take 10 if you don't.The picture is very good. It is very easy to make out faces from across the room or close up. It records to the Swann site and there's no charge unless you want extended storage. It also comes with several door and window stickers that alert people that you have a Swann system.

Cheap and gets hot
I have swan security cameras outside my house. I feel like Swan is a good brand so I decided to buy this camera for my child’s bedroom. First off this camera came in blank white box, which is weird because my other swan cameras came in a box that has Swan Security along with a picture of the camera on it. Secondly the way the items in the box looked like someone had gone through it. The camera didn’t even have a plastics film to protect it like my other swan cameras had. It also had scratches on it. Then when I plugged the camera in to link it to my app the camera itself became real hot. I feel like a fire hazard for it to be in my child’s room, it shouldn’t get hot within 10 minutes of being plugged in. I’m just disappointed in this product and in Amazon for sending me this product.

Great camera...just super obvious
The camera works just fine and sets up with the app fairly good. However, the cord is obnoxiously short - maybe about 3 feet long which pretty much confines you to locating the camera next to an outlet and with the hope/prayer that there is something nearby for it to rest on. While this is not an insurmountable issue, having a longer cable would have been nice to present you with some options; I can always zip-tie long cables...I can't extend a very short one. The short cable can also present problems if it's stretched to its full length - the camera isn't very stable and stretching the cable to its full length may cause it to tip over. Although the base of the camera allows you to mount it to your own provided screws somewhere, I can't imagine that the length of the cable will make this viable without investing in a cable of your own.Another disappointment for me that in the year 2019, the camera still only operates off a 2.4 GHz Wifi signal. While I have that option in my house, I tend to reserve it for older/legacy devices that operate on that frequency because the bandwidth along that range is not as high as my 5.0 GHz signal. The video quality is fairly good day and night. I will say top marks for night, however, since it looks far better than any other camera that I have tested to date although black and white (by necessity). Field of view is high which I'd estimate at 120 degrees to my untrained eye suggesting that a wide-angle lens is utilized. The app/camera has some other cons. Motion sensitivity is extremely high and you definitely want to disable phone notifications unless you want to drive yourself insane with constant pinging notifications; seriously, I had about 30 during the 5 minutes that I had fiddling with the thing and this was based on people sitting on a couch with little to no movement. If you're gone for the day and know that no one else is going to be there, it may be worth turning on but leaving it on--even with reduced sensitivity--with people in the house will make you go mental.Swann actually has some decent hardware...but they definitely need to rethink their cord length and their software somewhat to knock it out of the park.

Decent little cameras but they lack many features.
I like these little cameras, they are pretty easy to set up and have some good mounting options but they lack many features that I would have thought standard. For example. They send push notifications when they sense something. Which is nice, except there is only 1 way to turn off the notifications and that is to turn off all notifications from all cameras on the app. I bought these cameras to supplement a larger system that I have (that uses the same app) so I do not want to turn off all notifications. There is no way to set a schedule so, if push notifications are on they come 24/7.There is no way to tell it to not monitor specific areas such as excluding down next to the floor so the cat does not trigger it. So now I get hundreds of notifications because it triggers every time someone (or the cat) walks in the room (even at the lowest sensitivity setting). These cameras have a siren that can be triggered with movement. This feature has to be turned on and off manually. There is not a way to set a schedule.
