Works great.
Construction is nice, worked perfectly.Maybe next time wrap the tap in bubble wrap or a cardboard sleeve, during shipping the tap chews up the wood on the die.

Do not buy this if you actually want to make threaded dowels
I purchased 1-1/4" and 3/4" sets.TAPS: The taps worked okay for a few nuts but started to blunt despite frequent oiling before and during use.DIE BODY: The plastic body of the die will warp, and in multiple areas. The area that holds the blade will skew. The threads will not come out symmetrical once this happens, and no amount of shims will adjust the blade correctly. This means that even if you thread the dowel, it will not fit in the nut.DIE BLADE: I soaked my dowels in oil for 1 week prior to using the die, and I ejected the chips by regularly rotating a 1/4 turn backwards as instructed. Despite this, the blade on the 1-1/4" broke on the FIRST use. I managed to use the 3/4" to thread a few feet of dowel over a week before that blade also broke. I ordered a replacement blade thinking I could try and get the 3/4" die to work again, but the skew in the plastic makes it impossible to adjust accurately.DIE HARDWARE: The bolt that holds the blade in place is made of brass. It bent on tightening making it unusable to hold the blade in place. If its not tightened, the blade just glides backwards.CONCLUSION: This is not a tool, this is a money pit. Don't buy this.

Weak and brittle cutting blade.
The box is constructed well. But the blade is brittle and weak. I oiled (2 days) and cut 3 3/4 inch red oak dowels. Some tear out but generally a good cut. The fourth dowel was a disappointment. All the threads were gnarled and the wood split. I opened the box and found the the tip of one of the v shaped blade had rolled over and left a large bur in the v.I happened to have also bought the 1” set so I changed out the blades to finish my project and the second blade tip broke as well after a foot or so of cutting. Also, I noticed that the fit is very tight to the point that I have trouble turning the first few dowels I cut successfully after a few inches or so. Still trying to figure out a fix ...Anyway. I’m very sorry for this review. If the manufacturer is monitoring the feedback, I’d be happy to speak with you about the issue. It’s a great concept. Might just need better steel.
