JVC HAEBR80R Sports Clip Headphones (Red)

My husband and I both always keep a pair of these with us. I really like how they gently hook over your ear instead of having to shove and ear bud in my ear. They stay in place and never fall out which is great for working out or washing dishes or whatever it is you are doing. The microphone works great the sound is excellent and you cant tell that the person using them is on a hands free device. I prefer these to anything blue tooth because I hate having to deal with charging anything else I have enough gadgets as it is. The microphone also comes with a button to answer and hang up calls with so it works great while driving. I have an android phone and when I have google now open on my phone if I double click the microphone button it will recognize voice commands to make a call to mom or whoever. They are pretty sturdy I have had the same pair for over a year now but my husband has broken a few with rough handling but with the price being so affordable we I always keep an extra set on hand for each of us just in case. We have both gotten so used to them we feel lost without them. I hope they keep making this excellent product.

Very fond of this product. They stay securely on the ear, easy to handle pause button/Mic, well places on the cord for maintain good sound quality while making calls. My family has used the pause/play button to answer and hang up calls, and to start and stop playback with a variety of android phones and had no problem. The mic part even seems to work with a PS4 controller (although I havent tried to use the play/pause button on it with the PS4 before) The button is easy to reach when you need silence your phone quickly. There was a silver pair I gave to my mother. For Christmas over two years ago, and it lasted quite well, until they went missing. I reccently bought a blue one for myself, and a red and a black for my siblings. As soon as my mother saw them she immediately said "Oh I've been looking for those for months!" And I had to dissapoint her by insisting they were the ones I bought for my brother! In other words, they arent revolutionary sound-wise, but they are dependable, long lasting, comfortable, and do their job. Honestly, my favorite headphones!

Let me start off by saying that I specifically wanted a wired headphone for jogging because regardless of how "waterproof" they are, they get sweaty and get destroyed eventually. I find wired ones last longer. Secondly, I prefer "hooked" headphones for jogging/biking because they tend to stay on the ear. Third, I do not care for in-ear buds as they agitate my ears and cause wax build-up, but I understand while audiophiles and folks who ride trains regularly or are near noise (lawnmowing) might prefer them. If that's your goal, then these aren't ideal for you. But if you're someone like me, looking for an athletic, wired headphone that sits in your ear, but doesn't sit in-ear (with a rubber nub), then these JVC headphones will do the trick. The hooks are adjustable for ear size (they slide about 2 cm 45 degrees up and down). The sound quality is mediocre - not for audiophiles, but it works. They are better quality sound than some other brands I have purchase of similar price and design. I took away one star for the directional nub on the bud. Perhaps it helps focus sound into your ear and improves quality, but I find unless placed well, in your ear, it tends to be more of a hindrance. It's a bit of a design flaw in an otherwise find headphone. However, they sit fairly well in my ears, so I don't have as much of a problem with them. bottom line - good cheap, headphones for athletic uses while still allowing to you hear the outside world (to avoid cars, etc.)

I bought the JVC HA-EBR80 at least 10 years ago. They have been terrific. After years of use, I think the internal wiring on the right ear piece started to fail. I just bought my second pair (the JVC HA-EBR80 in red). They work fantastic. I especially use these when I'm having a long phone conversation. My I-Phone has terrible volume and it is hard to hear conversations. Plug these babies in and I hear perfectly. Note, you will need to purchase an adapter to use these with your I-Phone. Very good price for a quality product. The speaker is placed just right on these and no one has any problem hearing me during a conversation.

What do I like about them? They fit well and are surprisingly comfortable. My runs on the treadmill range from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours and I can scarcely recall incidents where they started bothering me. Regardless of how sweaty I got, they'd stay put. Audio quality is decent for the price range- I've encountered far worse. Reasonably durable too (but see below)- have snagged the cords many times with no ill effect, and the earpieces themselves have been drenched in sweat, with no real loss in audio quality observed. However, the deal breaker is the remote control. Earphones hold up fine to the sweat, but the remote control does not. During intense workouts, sometimes sweat would get onto the remote control, and this would cause it go to completely haywire, uncontrollably activating its function, which in the case of my phone was lowering the volume. It got so bad with my first pair that I had to buy another after ~9 months, even though everything else was still functional with them. Started encountering the issue with the 2nd pair, but usually drying the control with a paper towel is enough to keep them working properly. Instead, the right ear clip broke off this pair after about 7 months of use. Fortunately for me I had my old pair still, so I used the clip from those to fix it.

These headphones are very comfortable and work well with my smart phone. The microphone is very clear for conversations and the sound quality is pretty good. Definitely worth the buy.

Great sound, value and design.

I have used this before this is not the first time. It is literally the only product that works and sounds well with my Android phone.
