Beautiful and Educational
I ordered this book for a homeschool unit on the rainforests, and it was perfect. My girls were 4 and 6 at the time, and they loved the book, and the entire unit. At the end of the unit, we hosted a Rainforest Party to raise money for The Nature Conservancy, and our family was featured in TNC's magazine!

Beautiful Illustrations
Great way to present some of the flora and fauna of the rainforest to young kids. But the book is an "illustrated alphabet book" and I found some of the animals representing the letters were kind of forced.

Nice book about Rainforest creatures
This is a colorful look at different Rainforest creatures, written by a teenager. It follows a frog introducing animals you might meet in the Rainforest. It is not quite as good as her other book Under the Sea. I would recommend it for 4-8 year olds, it can be wordy.

Interesting book by a young person - good for the classroom
This is an interesting piece of literature, written and illustrated by a young person, Freshman, I assume in high school, from a publisher who specializes in this type of work. The illustrations are not at the professional level, nor is the text, it is evident that it was written by a student. However, the book contains nice illustrations, interesting facts, and what is more, it can be an inspirational book for children and young people, in that it helps them to see what they can produce if they put their mind and effort into it.This is not a child's picture book, but it is more like for 4th through 7th grade. If the teacher or parent shows them how this book was created, they might encourage or inspire the students, either an entire classroom, or individual students who have some artistic talent, to create their own book. It is a nice work for the classroom, grades 4 through 7. It could be used to inspire middle school students or older grade school students. The book does teach interesting facts and details about the rainforest, in that respect it also has value in the classroom or home children's library.

Great rainforest and ABC book.
I found this book in my quest for interesting books for a course I was teaching on the rainforest. At the ripe old age of 15, Kristin Joy Pratt (now Pratt-Serafini) developed this lovely book. Her illustrations take you on the journey through the rainforest with XYZ the ant. As the reader explores the ABC's, s/he also learns about the life within and the biodiversity. Words, facts and colorful illustrations will encourage discussion about this habitat and make learning the ABC's and exciting journey.

Ein ausgezeichnetes Bilderbuch für Anfänger um das ABC zu lernen. Die kurzen Texte und bunten Bilder sind der Anlass für Gespräche und kreative Übungen.
