My "I hate to read" son LOVED this book!
I have a 9 year old boy who "hates" to read. Believe me, it literally HURTS my ears when he says that (daily) but he really hates to read. I have tried everything, all the typical books that his friends love to read and he doesn't like them and/or never finishes them. The only books he liked reading were the "Diary of a Whimpy Kid" series, which is great, but there are only 4 or 5 of those. I tried getting books that looked and seemed like the Whimpy Kid series, and he didn't like any of them...thought they were lame.My husband finally said a few months ago: "ya know, when I was your age I used to love to read the Hardy Boys. I could never put them down." So I ordered this one, and even though it looks old school, believe me, he LOVED it!!!! He was so into the mystery and the characters and now we are on our 3rd Hardy Boys book. You don't have to go in order, as each one is a separate adventure.Positives:--My son LOVED it.--I had 30 minutes of peace every night w a glass of wine instead of hearing "Mom!!! I hate this book! "Negatives:--NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. If your child doesn't love to read, please try a Hardy Boys mystery. It might just work. :0

Hats off to Applewood for its beautiful HARDY BOYS facsimile editions
This is the 15th book in Applewood's facsimile editions series of the ORIGINAL Hardy Boys books. Applewood is reproducing these books from original mint/near mint copies of the originals so we not only have an exact copy of the original book with original artwork but also the original glossy dust jackets. These are beautiful books to behold and to hold. What a great way to start a collection of some of America's classic books for young people. It's even more exciting if you read the books in chronological order because as the 20th century moves forward so do developments in technology in the Hardy Boys books. I've read the first 80 Hardy Boys books in the original editions which show wear and tear and remain in my library but these new beauties have their own special display area.

Awesome books
My 10yr old daughter loves the Hardy boys and I did too when I was young. These are new hardback books that she gets lost in. The only issue I have is that she reads them too fast. I'm going to go broke buying her the whole set

A masterpiece
Anyone who enjoys the Hardy Boys would be well-advised to take the trouble and search out these original versions, not the 1950's rewritten versions which insult the intelligence of young readers. Although the technology and modes of transportation are clearly outdated, the warmth of the writing and richness of the stories left my young reader spellbound.

The Hardy Boys #15 The Sinister Signpost
I chose this rating because I like The Sinister Signpost. I listened to it on talking book and it was awesome. I liked the fact that the book has to do with racing. I don't know who I would recommend this product to.

We have this book on hand
He is reading these books in order, and he is 9 years old. I am very pleased to help him to get the books he wants. Currently, he has not read the last book that I gave him in this series.
