Well built and reasonably sharp
I'll try to keep this short. The sword is really well built, it handle is wrapped tight, blade sharp and straight, cuts well, fits in saya tight , hamon is real, it very nice and priced well. Easily rivals katana quality of katana that cost 3 times as much. Easily disassembled and overall very happy to have tried ot this company.

Very humble price for very good work
When I first saw this katana, I was drawn in by the ito wrap on the tsuka. This is the type of wrap that you are more likely to see on high end swords and it looks better in person. The samegawa is a full wrap and goes all the way around the handle. The copper fittings are common cast, but they have added their own airbrush flair to them that really makes them stand out. The blade is also skillfully made. Even without a Bo-Hi, there is an audible que when slicing the air at the correct angle. All-in-all, the quality of this blade warrants a higher price tag and I'm humbled by the swordsmith's craftmanship of Siwode. I 100% recommend this sword for any collector, beginner or not. That being said, it does come sharp and can cut, but I personally respect this sword and have chosen to keep it for display only.

Absolutely beautiful katana!
I LOVE my katana! I've been doing martial arts for almost 4 years and have really been drawn to everything that deals with it. We do traditional Japanese karate, I love the craftsmanship and the detailing of this katana. The dragonfly not only has symbolism in Japanese culture but it also has special meaning for me. My grandfather passed away without ever getting a chance to see me compete or practicing martial arts in general. While at his funeral there were a bunch of dragonflies around this plot. They stayed near us and went nowhere else. When I saw this design I was drawn to it immediately. I feel very connected to this katana. Even my Sensei was impressed with the craftsmanship and balance of the sword. I highly recommend this katana for those who are deeply into martial arts and who are looking for their first katana. Thank you very much for an amazing, beautiful sword.

Got scared for a second.
I ordered the olive colored variant with the dragonfly tsuba and received the package today. When I first opened the Amazon box I saw a second box inside which made me relieved that it seemed to have at least an extra layer of protection. Upon taking the inner box out my heart sank as it was a really corny looking box with an illustration of a shinobi/samurai on it and what looked like a photo of a very cheap looking katana with a black tsuba and black wrap, definitely not the katana I ordered. I opened that box which contained a polystyrene clam-shell sort of packaging that was taped up. I carefully cut the tape to open it up and lo and behold, the olive wrapped beauty with the copper dragonfly tsuba and the deep teal sageo lay before me. I breathed a sigh of relief and picked it up, took the protective shrink wrap off and gazed at my Akichi no Himitsu (Secret of the Glade is what I named it.) I can't tell if it's actually T10 or if it's actually clay tempered but it is gorgeous and sharp and solid. Well worth the price!

Item as described
Lovely Katana. From the Saya, to the Sagaeo, to the Tsuba, to the new rope Tsuka-Ito, to the razor sharp blade, to the Samé, I am enamored by this Katana. I'm not 100 percent sure if it's T10 steel, but the look and weight of it sure seems as it could be. I would buy another from Siwode again in a heart beat. Don't hesitate if interested. Well worth the price.

Thrown together…
This sword looks nice, but it’s not functional. Everything from the fuchi down is loose. The tsuba literally tilts to one side… so imagine what it sounds like when you handle the sword. The ito wrap is lose and there is no consistency with the diamonds. I wanted to use this in competition because it’s cosmetically pleasing, but not now. Now I’m stuck with an expensive decoration that sounds like a cow bell that I could have had for $50 on eBay. Buyer beware. I’m being nice here, too (there are other issues with the steel and blade). If you’re looking for a sword to learn on or practice chopping stuff in half: this ain’t the sword. The handle will be worthless in a week. If they’d tighten everything up and do some QA, this would probably be nice for the price. Too bad.

Good packaging
The scabbard did come with a small scrape, but everything else is fine. Not the best quality, but still good.
