This does not fit a 1998 4runner the 1998 4runner has a 10 bolt ring and this one is 12 bolt unlucky for me i took too long to install it and now i cant return it wish i could exchange it for the correct one amazon said it would fitThe correct one for the 3rd gen 4runner with v6 3.4 liter engine (tv6 differential) is 913A610Amazons compatibility check is incorrect

Shows in the application chart it fits a 2002 Toyota 4Runner rear differential with 30 spline axle, but doesn't fit, I sent it back and received credit. I looked directly at the Detroit True Trac application chart and it showed the correct part number was 913A610 so I ordered it and worked great.
