Easy to work with
I found this wood filler easy to work with. I'm using it to repair some damage to my house siding. I smear this in the damaged areas and then press a wood grained stencil on it to closely match my siding. (The stencil I used is actually for putting a wood grain on a cake.) I wet the stencil each time I use it. There is a little pull up of the wood filler if I don't wait long enough but some sanding takes care of that. It's not perfect, (the stenciling not the wood filler), but it worked out fine. After sanding and painting the repairs are hardly noticeable. Much more cost effective than relplacing all the siding on my house. (My house is old so there is no way I would ever be able to obtain matching siding for repair work.) I did put the wood filler on too thick a couple of times and found some tiny cracks in a couple of days, but I just filled them with more wood filler. No problem. Patience. Some of these repairs were rather extensive and took multiple coats of filler. Smear some in and let it dry for a few days. Smear some more and let it dry. Final smear and stencil it. Yeah, patience. Kind of like spray painting. No patience means paint running down the side of your project. Even though I got a few tiny cracks after it dried I still give five stars as I feel that was my fault for putting it on too thick. This stuff dried hard and strong. I mean, it's really not meant for some of the larger repairs I used it for, but it worked out pretty good. I was satisfied enough that I purchased more to continue more siding repairs as well as some small repairs to the fascia.

Best Brand of Woodfiller I've Found
By far the best brand of wood filler I have used. I keep coming back to it even after trying other brands. As other reviews noted, this specific one is not really white as described, it is more of a light poplar color, but if you were staining light wood, you wouldn't want it perfectly white and if you are painting it doesn't really matter what color it is. Since this is water soluble even once dry, you have to top coat it with something to prevent damage. Some reviewers comment that it is gritty and I have no idea where that statement comes from. The reason I keep coming back to Famowood is that it is the only smooth wood filler I have found. The elmers and minwax ones are both terrible and have very coarse grit in them, which prevents you from creating a smooth surface. Famowood has created a very smooth surface for me every time, especially after sanding.

Solid, Very Little Shrinking
First, there's a big difference between a wood filler and a wood putty. I've predominantly used wood putties in the past, and these formulations don't harden (much to my chagrin).Enter the "wood filler". This compound comes highly recommended, and rightfully so. In my experience, there was very little (if any) odor and the filler dried within 30 minutes without shrinking. I over-filled the holes in the molding and took a very gentle, 150 grit sandpaper to the excess and it sanded away efficiently (leaving a smooth surface for painting). To the extent that you're looking to patch holes in wood for painting, this should be your choice. If you're looking for a wood filler that's stainable, YMMV. Try to find the closest color match that you can (famowood offers multiple colors based upon wood types).

Used to fill grain on oak cabinets - amazing!!
If I could give it more stars, I would. I bought Aquacoat, and it was a nightmare. Famowood was everything I needed (and half of the cost). I diluted it in water until it had catchup consistency, and applied on cabinets using an old credit card or my hands (in the borders). I applied two very thin layers with no sanding in between because the grain was deep. I sanded with a palm sander, and the cabinets looked great. No grain at all!!! Quick and cost efficient.

Contaminated product
Product came with some sort of mold or manufacturing contamination in it. Not too comfortable to use it. If it’s mold or the like it could contaminate the wood and cause damage. The container was well sealed so it seems the contamination likely happened at the manufacturer.Did not receive appropriate product for my money. Do not recommend. Would not buy again. Do not have a favorable opinion of the Famowood or Eclectic brands.

Excellent
This stuff really works very well. I got some stuff from Home Depot I can't quite remember the name but it didn't work nearly as well as this and the container it came in didn't close well enough for the next time I went to use it it was all hard and useless. This goes on quite nice, it gets hard fast and sands very easily. The container closes and forms a seal so when you want to use it again it's not all hardened up.I would definitely use this stuff again I highly recommended it.

Excellent Workable Compound for All Types of Repairs
A quality filler that can be easily applied smoothed, sanded, and painted. A strong plus is that it does not crumble or break up during application - it is like a thick wall board compound. For filling deep holes or building up thickness, several application and dry cycles will be needed, but the result is a solid strong repair. For a damaged cabinet repair, after sanding the famowood build up,, I used a wallboard compound for final skim coats, then sanded and painted for a like new result. As a latex filler, clean up was quick and easy. My take some practice to use, but learning to use it is quick and intuitive.

wood putty for exterior application
this product is great. It is easy apply to wood and other surfaces ,maintains its shape while drying and hardening. It cures quickly but allows plenty of working time for small jobs and can be painted to match existing wood surfaces. It can be sanded smooth when dry and cleans up easily. If applied too thickly small cracks may appear and need to be resurfaced, Best to apply multiple surfaces if covering deep cracks.I saw some reviewers claimed the pint container wasn't full and that the product dried up after first use,I didn't experience the quantity issue or the drying out issue. I did finish my containers in week or two of opening but i did notice the cover closed very tightly when secured properly
