Designed for use with a standard size litter box, Shake and Rake is a recyclable, washable, plastic, non bag, manual cat litter sifter. It is a long lasting alternative to the usual way of scooping litter one by one. Shake and Rake removes dirty litter in one swoop while clean letter falls through the patented paw print holes back into the litter box for reuse. In addition, once the dirty litter is removed, Shake and Rake can be sifted back down through the clean litter for reuse by shaking it from left to right or vice versa. Shake and Rake is made in America.

Love it!!!
I have two cats, and this makes litter-cleaning SO fast and easy! I keep two litter boxes for the cats to use, and I bought a third box so that I could use it with this sifter. I always keep the sifter in the empty litter box and dump the soiled litter into it, shake the clean litter out, and dump the clumps into the trash bin. To keep dirty litter from sticking to the litter boxes, I buy generic vegetable oil spray, coat the litter pans liberally, and add a dusting of baking soda before I put litter in. This completely eliminates sticking and makes using the sifter a breeze. My only complaint with this sifter is that I wish the holes were just a little bit smaller, because it does leave a lot of tiny clumps behind in the sifted litter. But, for the convenience and ease of use, I'm very pleased with this item and would recommend it to anyone who hates scooping dirty litter as much as I used to.

Love the Shake & Rake!
This is such a neat product! I like the sifter litter boxes, but didn't want to purchase the whole kit and kaboodle, as I have three covered litter boxes already. So I was excited when I found this one. I place the shake & rake inside an empty regular rectangular litter box, pour the used litter from another litter box over it, lift the shake & rake to sift out the chunks, dump that in a garbage bag, then pour the cleaned litter back into the litter box it came from. So much faster than scooping! And since I have three litter boxes to scoop, this saves me lots of time. The only thing I wish were different was that the holes were smaller so it would trap the smaller chunks. As it is, they either get dumped back into the cleaned litter box, or I then have to scoop them out. That wouldn't take much to do. Still better than scooping the whole thing! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to replace their litter boxes, but is tired of scooping litter. Get a regular cheap rectangular litter box to use with it, and you're good to go! (Instructions say to put this in your litter box and cover it with litter and let the cats use it that way, but I don't recommend that. It works better to use it as a sieve to pour the dirty litter through.)

Holy (cat)poop THIS IS AMAZING!
I never leave product feedback but after using this item, I felt it was my duty to report my experience. I have two fat, indoor cats and three litter boxes that do not get the attention they probably need as cleaning the boxes is number two on the list of things I hate doing. After reading other reviews, I was very hesitant about the products ability to properly sift cat poop. When it finally came in the mail, I was more skeptical and feared that I had purchased a crap product. When it became time to use it, I was amazed at how the product made the doo-doo process a million times easier. We only had to scoop three times, one for each of the litter boxes, as opposed to the 15-20 with the little scooper. I would suggest that instead of dropping a deuce for a self cleaning box, save your money and get this. It’s worth it.

Doesn't work out
This product is a great idea. I really wanted it to work. It doesn't work out at all. It's not possible to get the litter to come back up through the bottom of it. I did it as instructed. Meaning push the litter into the middle of the box before trying to shimmy down with it. About a quarter of the letter will come through but that's it. If you have two litter box bottoms, and want to pour litter back-and-forth, this might work out fine but not in the way described. Also there is another problem. The cover to my litter box will not fit back on again with this thing in place. I have the cover sitting on top but the cats kick it and move it. And if they pee on the inside wall it drips out so it's not a good idea. Maybe it would work if the holes were much bigger, but it doesn't work the way it is now. Don't bother. Mine is going in the garbage.

Disappointed
Not as good as I thought it would be. It seems like the litter keeps getting stuck underneath the pan and it kind of defeats the purpose because rather than just shaking the clumped up later off into the garbage every time I clean it which is once a day, I have to take out the tray and scrape it off with a scooper then go outside and rinse it off anyway. What's the use?!

Not exactly as easy as I thought
I put it in the box, poured on the litter...kitties used...lifted it up and shook a bit..it worked as I expected....but....then I couldn't get it back under the cleaned litter. You really need two litter pans, but then have to pick up the full litter box to dump it, wash and store the one just emptied. Seems easier to just scoop. Maybe my system is flawed :(

Great product. However
Great product. However, I find it easier to use this and another litter box as a sifting unit. I can change three larger boxes in a matter of minutes doing it this way. Saves a lot of time. I simply dump the larger boxes through this, them empty it into a garbage can. Simple and efficient. Just be careful on the transfer...some smaller clumps can fall through if you tip it too soon.

We currently have 3 cats that like to pee along the edge of litter box
Lucky for me, my husband cleans the litter boxes. We currently have 3 cats that like to pee along the edge of litter box. Since our boxes are much larger than the Shaker, we don't use as intended. They would pee down the outer side of Shaker. BUT, it does work perfectly by putting it in an empty box and dump old litter into the shaker and sift. Simply dump out what's in the shaker. Put litter back in other box. Cuts my husbands time in dealing with the litter boxes in half.
