Handy
As a regular visitor to Goa I found it very useful although I don’t have a hope of following up all the options presented. With the Kindle version it would be good to have an online link for comments from users,

Very good resource.
Well organized and helpful, without shying away from the difficulties of the place. Very good resource.

Quality and beauty are great, however
Only pictures of landscapes and Hindu people. Not a travel book at all.Quality and beauty are great, however,I was misled about being a travel book.

Thin and poorly researched
This is the lamest guidebook I've ever encountered. The information is extremely thin and not well researched. A sizable chunk seems to have been copy/pasted from internet sites, where I've seen the same information. The Mumbai part is especially weak.

even more usless than the LP India book
Never again will I be using the Lonely planet for my travels, they really have lost the plot, in the past the books were crammed with useful information for the independent traveller, now its just a rather heavy tour guide with little useful content for the serious traveller. I will give an example at the end of my last trip {December 2015) I spent a week in Colva/Goa according to LP only a few budget places left, now the domain of upmarket hotels, that's really not true still plenty of budget options but they're just not in the book so you will need to arrive and put some effort and leg work into finding what you want. I could rant on for pages about how useless I found the LP Mumbai and Goa book grrrrr

Poorly laid out+confusing, but does have some good info.
So I had to leave a review... It's got some good info in this book, but the format and layout is abysmal. The way the listings are written is very confusing. On the map there are are numbered points which correspond to a list, but then the descriptions of those points are not in the same order nor do they have the corresponding number next to each listing. I found out after that they are ordered in the authors preference if visiting..And by geographic order and sometimes by price. But this means you have to spend far too much time thumbing back and forth through pages trying to find the listing you want. And the authors preference might not be your preference, and prices can change so the format seems redundant. I still bought it based on reviews as it does contain some good info, but the format really puts me off. I'll be sticking to DK Eyewitness in future, and the only reason I bought this was because the Mumbai one is being released in October or later this year. Your best off reading travel blogs and planning that way, or taking several hours before the trip to make a plan and fill the book with post it notes 😂Also it really is mostly about Goa, Mumbai doesn't get much of a mention!

A useful guide
I always buy a lonely planet for cities/regions/countries that I visit and travel around. They offer good advice, guidance, and maps, and this edition is no exception, though they are best used in conjunction with some online research! As with other editions I find that some of the suggested itineraries are not doable, unless you are prepared to be on the move all the time. I'd suggest picking out some highlights and making your plans from there.

The only guidebook you'll need!
In an era of increasing wifi and computer screens, it is a novelty to carry everything you need to know about a city in a book in your pocket! An informative, accurate and honest guide to such a beautiful country.Once again, Lonely Planet doesn't disappoint!

The eguide is good but I paid £12
The eguide is good but I paid £12.00 for it through Amazon and later found it on the Lonely Planet site for under £6.00. Also know that you are suppose to be able to download detailed pdf maps that go along with this guide but the links are dead ends. I've written Lonely Planet about this and have yet to hear back. I wanted this guide mainly for the maps so it's not been a good deal for me.
