Cairn Terriers (Complete Pet Owner's Manual) Paperback – June 1, 2009

Very easy read and very informative well written lots of history of the breed and what to expect with the little Terrors...oh wait did I leave a couple of letters out there? Ours is adorable but they can be a little over powering if your not prepared for them. We raised a JRT so this little guy is just another Terrier that can be a Terror!!!! He came at the right time as my JRT died last summer at age 18, and I had just finished grieving her loss when he found us..so I was ready to accept another dog, and work with it..he has gotten me off the couch again and out walking like my little girl did.

Good information both historical background and how to decide from pup to adult. Easy read and quite doable. Definitely a recommendation for anyone interested in a Cairn Terrier or for folks just looking for background information and/or tips.

Great review of the Cairn terriers. Drew together bits and pieces of things I had red into 1 reference. Good pictures of the many colorations of the breed.

This book wasn't exactly what I thought it would be like. It is very short and doesn't have lots of specific details. It is however an exellent source overall. One great thing about it not having lots of details is that it is short and very easy to read the entire thing rather than just skim certain sections. I found the grooming section very helpful and informative. However I would have liked a little more information in the training section. Also I would have liked more details in handling those difficult puppy moments such as when they try to bite. I loved that this book is completely tailored to the cairn terriers rather than it being a general dog book. I definitely was not disappointed.

When the promotional blurb said there was grooming info, I expected more than a sentence telling me to order the grooming publication from the Cairn Terrier Club of America -- which I have now done. I should have saved my money and bought that in the first place!

Very helpful guide (I recently adopted a cairn terrier and had never owned one before) for newbies to this breed. Excellent examples and suggestions - more than just an informational book!

very informative book, would recommend to Cairn owners, esp. if getting a 'puppy'. pictures are great. helpful info on feeding, bathing (grooming) and house training.

very good book, but would have preferred more information, in depth details would have helped more with 'stripping' etc. An awful lot of details about the American clubs and what you need to do to enter shows etc.

This little book is very informative. I don't doubt that I will be consulting it often in the months to come.
