Auger Drill Bit for Planting - 3"X12" Heavy-Duty Garden Auger Spiral Drill Bit - Bulb Planter Tool & Auger Post Hole Digger - 3/8" Hex Drive Drill

We have a very large yard with extensive landscaping and gardens. We recently purchased this auger to plant several new gardens. I am amazed how well this auger works and how much faster and easier it makes gardening. I use it on my 18 volt cordless drill on the low speed setting. It has no problem powering the auger for 10 or more larger plants at a time. I simply drill a hole and then wobble the drill around until I have the size of hole I want. It’s very easy to do and greatly speeds up planting. I also use it to mix up the dirt in the hole so I get a nice combination of loosened soil. It’s a great tool at an excellent price. I wish I had bought it years ago! Highly recommended!

If you garden, you need a tool like this. Very sturdy piece of gear. It worked great planting tomatoes and peppers in my garden, although, I wish I had bought a longer version that's around three feet long. I wouldn't have had to bend over so much. That said, the tool is tough and held up to some fairly rocky tilled but compacted garden soil. My wife was impressed. Normally I have to use a slim shovel and dig over 100 holes and end up with a backache, no more of that. I was able to stay way ahead of her as she planted. Her comment was she had trouble keeping up with me. The key to making nice holes is to drill it in small bursts and pull the dirt up with the auger, then a quick tap on the trigger to dislodge the dirt. If you run it constantly, it throws dirt all over and becomes a little unwieldy. Also, you end up having too much dirt drop back in the hole, you don't want that. You'll figure it out after a couple of holes. I do recommend using a 1/2" chuck brushless cordless hammer drill. The key is brushless as they stay cool under heavy use. You don't need the hammer part, but 1/2" hammer drills usually have extra torque which is really helpful and they usually have a side handle which is good for stability. I killed my old B&D 3/8" cordless drill. It wasn't made for that, and started smoking after just a few holes. I switched to a 18v Ryobi 1/2" brushless cordless drill (any brand will do though), and it never even got warm. So this auger is great tool and sold at a fair price. It's definitely worth having.

I can't say enough about how great this auger worked. I had reservations about it working with my battery powered drill, but it worked like a champ, and didn't drain the battery. Great tool. good luck with your gardening..

Works great as directed. I have a dewalt and ryobi drill and both get the job done and have no problems digging a perfect 4 inch hole

Apparently it's not new. It arrived with rust and scratches on the tip, blade, and top. Still had dirt on the blade.

Wow, this augur drill bit is just Awesome... Big enough to do the job and it went through that hard Rocky soil very quickly. I planted several small trees with it. I'm like, maybe 12 for 13, and it didn't take any time at all using this thing, it's well worth the money. It's strong, it didn't break, which is really saying something on these types of augers, but this one held up and I would buy it again. It's a good one, it's a keeper for sure.

Awesome drill for the garden does exactly what it’s meant to do received in good packaging and proper sturdy drill saves all the hassle having to dig holes, why did I not use a drill before. Why did I not think of this a long time ago?

Me ha gustado mucho lo fácil que es realizar agujeros en tierra en el campo. Así me evito tener que utilizar apenas el hazadón, sobre todo en suelos duros o secos. Es una herramienta que evita tener que hacer esfuerzos físicos.
